That rolling chassis looks too low to be a 6R4.
I'd agree, comparing it to the standard Metro parked directly in front of it.
Looks a bit like a stripped Pontiac Fiero.
Four-stud wheels, though, and this page suggests a Fiero would have five: http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-rods-rat-rods/W...

Beautiful R8 in a hotel car park in the South of France. Sounded lovely when the guy gunned it away down the road too.

Sorry no pix (I was busy) but earlier today I was working by the road outside a friend's house, here in deepest rural south central France. I heard a fruity noise in the distance and looked round to be surprised by an XK140 on UK plates burbling past. Half an hour later I spotted from the corner of my eye (at first) a bright yellow Mk 1 Capri, also on UK plates. Must be some sort of tour I guess. We don't get much excitement round here...

Had a yellow K reg Capri parked across the road from us the other week - I did get a pic - and will try and post it.

These have definitely crept up in value over the last few years. I remember seeing sub £20k ones.

I can remember when they were less than that!

Just because it looked a nice example (and because I'm a nosy old git) I looked this car up on the MOT website. It's only got 50k on the clock and passed its MOT yesterday. I like to think that the owner was taking it for a celebratory Italian tune up. I followed him along the A51 for a while and he certainly wasn't sparing the horses!

The excitement continues here in deepest France. On a back road today I saw a 1953/54ish RR Silver Dawn, again on UK plates.
I really must get one of those 'dashcam' contrivances...

Terrible thing to do to a poor helpless Veedub!

Nice set of classic alloys though; Dunlop D1s if I'm not mistaken. Had a set of those on an Imp in the mid-70s.

In anorak mode I think the V Dub people know them as BRM style wheels. IMHO Dunlop D1s are much more desirable! As you say, lovely on an Imp and pretty cool for Morris 1300GT and the 10" ones on Minis.
