He passed it on to me in 1989.
How did that conversation go?

"I'd like you to take on the Ace."
"Oh, okay, if I must."

..........

Years ago I knew a lovely chap who owned a pre-war V12 Lagonda which he used, amongst other things, for an annual shooting trip to Scotland. One year he asked if he could use his father's DB4 Convertible instead.

"He thought about for a few seconds and said no, perhaps when I was older. I'll be sixty next birthday."

Rod Leach (of Nostalgia) offered a 427 Cobra - but it was not cheap!
Did he ever sell anything "cheap"?

Fair point - he only sold rare and desirable cars.

By "not cheap" I meant to imply that Mr Leach knew his cars and his marketplace...unlikely he would have undervalued a 427.

But compared to today's prices....

A thing of beauty which has recently graced the Southwark streets of my morning walk to work.
Stunning, just stunning.
Wish I had the courage to actually own one.

Maybe not quite classics, but it's not just Goodwood that has fancy displays

This display is on a roundabout outside the Porsche Museum and Factory in Stuttgart. Apologies for orientation of phone pic.

Edited to add orientation finally corrected but Jesus it's hard work

GT6 had a fixed steel roof, it's a Triumph Spitfire.

I believe to fit a GT6 engine in a Spitfire the GT6 bonnet was required as well to clear the 6 pot rocker cover

Is that a Mk2 Granada in the background? (or should I get better reading glasses?)
