Or just in for an MoT.

You're such a snob.

I know. But it did give me an opportunity to realise that the original Virage has grown on me over time. The Vauxhall Calibra jibes at the time coloured my thinking and I believed the contemporary Vantage was the only option. Nice looking car.

(Nice looking car now all the Calibras are dead.)
Would have been a better looking car if it had looked like a Calibra. The front view is by far the worse.
Have to agree, the Calibra was a very, very nice looking car. Rubbish to drive (at least the bog ones I drove) but lovely looking.

Yes, I'd agree with that too.

For some reason my sister bought a J-plate Metallic Blue Calibra 8V as her family car back in the 90s. rolleyes

It looked stunning, but didn't drive any better than the J plate Cavalier SRi I had!

Beautiful.... I had a white 4.2 coupe in the day but a 5.3 V12 must be very rare....

I remember when the XJ6 was announced; those low (70!) profile tyres looked amazing!

Indeed. A classic design that’s endured so well over the decades. cloud9

Funny, I was just looking at that photo thinking "for 35 grand I'd want them to at least put some new tyres on it" scratchchin

We should all buy V12s to help the environment.

The sooner we run out of petrol the better, shirley.

According to Nigel Thorley's 'Original Jaguar XJ' book 1,855 Jaguar badged V12 Coupes built (plus 2,608 Daimler Double Sixes built). Lovely!

Having been badly bitten (but still smitten) by the XJ I'm afraid I would have to see evidence of a body resto or a very impressive history to go near one again.
They rust for fun but can quite easily be tarted up to look very presentable unfortunately.

I took time out from a recent business trip in Berlin to call in and see the Classic Remisse showroom and Museum. It was nice to spot my two dream classic cars in the right colours and parked right next to each other.

Sadly I had left my cheque book at home.

This place has free entry and you can just wander around so it's well worth a visit as they have some great cars on show all of the time.
