My memory isn't as good as it used to be, but I am sure that I had read somewhere many years ago about a German owner who used to deliver pizzas in his Stratos when they weren't so valuable and were "just an old car".

This links to article I hope

Interestingly the article describes a Kermit Green Stratos with colour-coded spoilers and poor panel fit along with a picture. The car is stored at classic remise and they take it for a test drive so I guess it's possibly the same one as in my photo.
The one in the article doesn't have the colour-blind coded door mirrors, front spoiler or number plate. They could always have been added later of course.

If you want a dodgy museum exhibit, this is on display at the Malaysian Narional Motor Museum, complete with images of Mike Hawthorn at Le Mans. They claim it's one of 71 built. I doubt if the bodywork would attract a magnet.

It's a bit cheating this:

The ultimate Turbo: 1991 964, so with the sturdy 3.3. I still can feel my shoulders and knees. The above come from iPhone and the bottom shot from my Huawei.

One of my first memories - my father had one of these in Kenya, of all places!

Sadly not, it was the new Kenyan Government on behalf of the then ODA.

We had some other great cars over those years - a Corsair, a Zephyr, a brace of Rover 3500s, a Triumph 2000, a Hillman Imp, a Fiat 500 as well as a rackety old Austin(?) Champ.

Big Al.
