Sounds interesting, where in Lincs as I would be keen on joining.
Also, if you're still looking for a man Friday and you are anywhere near me, I know just the bloke. Expert on Citroens and just like me has found new found freedom from a long service career and is now continuing his hobby of car maintenance making that his business. Let me know if he could help.

I just had a response from CCC about their ex midlands and manchester branches. Basically they are in discussions with a couple of people about getting these running again but they want to make sure that anyone running these has the finance and can dedicate the time. They are working on it but can't give any possible dates yet.
You can either joinn the bath branch or they are doing bespoke memberships at the london branch, either way you can call them to discuss the options.
Here's hoping it gets sorted soon......

Thanks I'll try that, although I am a little concerned about handing over my cash to a company thats shut down, for whatever reasons, 3 of it's branches.I don't fancy getting my fingers burnt like others have.
I've just renewed my membership (again!) and have booked the club's 1964 Jaguar Mk2 for September so I can park on the Lavant straight and the Goodwood Revival this year - yay!
Anyone thinking of joining the club, take note that there are a load of modern classics on the fleet now. I've just had a weekend in the new Maserati 3200GT. What a car and could just about seat four. Bit hairy in these icy conditions, but loved every second - great noise too!!!! Vrooommmm!!
There's also a Bentley Continental R that cost over 200k when it was new and a supercharged Daimler V8 that looks pretty special, but yet to try those out. Only a matter of time tho....

These clubs sound like an interesting idea; but I doubt I'd ever join one even if I had the money, £15k buys quite a lot in my world of dubious taste, Datsun Cedric anyone? I'd always rather to own the car myself.
As the club is a way into classic ownership without commitments one wonders maybe whether some of the members add weight to PJ O'Rourke's statment that "the fastest car in the world is a hire car!" and drive with a lesser degree of mechanical sympathy than they should because the vehicles are not theirs.
I could be totally wrong, but it only takes one bad driver to ruin a clutch, and the driving experience will be spoiled for everyone else. I'll put my hand up and admit guilt to treating a hired Daewoo abominably, though the car itself annoyed me through a hideous clutch action; eventually forcing me to give up and change without it.
Perhaps membership costs do cover regular maintenance and the concept of being able to borrow a classic from a selection is hugely appealing.
