I am doing my best to change the opinions of MGB owners and speed they are driven.

I have noticed people pulling out on me since i have got mine, probably not expecting me to be going the speed i am! Maybe i have still got rose tinted specs on but its quite nice to hustle down the lanes.
I had much the same when I had a Midget. It went most places slightly sideways if there was any curve in the road. Very sideways if wet hehe Much fun was had with that car.
I had a Midget like that too...................then I replaced the tyres. ;rofl:
Goodyear clubs on the front, with a bit of hammering of shoxs to get negative camber and the cheapest ditchfinders around on the rear. I did run goodyears all round but ditchfinder rears was more fun hehe
Only killed one diff and one halfshaft in nine years, oddly both sideways on the same bend four years apart.

ine if safe to do so

but waiting for the car behind to indicate and pull out to the other side of the road and then pulling away from them is plain stupid and probably illegal

I'm amazed a person of your age would do such stuff and admit to it on a public forum

there's enough stupidity on the roads already try to add the least to it you can

Nah, bks to them. People who tailgate rarely drive fast anyway.

that's not what I usually find, often it's a more powerful car or big motorbike that despite the rider's enormous power between his legs has to cut up in far too close on the overtake

I often think of clipping their rear end to spin them off the road but that's all just in my imagination as I'd sooner have as much distance between these people and me and I've sometimes pulled over and waited for them to get fully clear from me

That saying that I read on here once, along the lines of "do you want to make that person a pert of the rest of your life?" sounds loud in me now in those kinds of situations. I've always made space for bikers (Dad was a biker).

The people I find most annoying tailgate wise are men in Sprinter vans and the like. I also let them pass on the basis that I'd rather have them in clear sight.

Subject to road, weather and traffic conditions, I'll drive at the speed limit. So if some tailgater experiences problems when I floor it at the start of a new higher limit I really couldn't care less. They will be 'inconvenienced' for a maximum of a few seconds and can then overtake in excess of the speed limit if they wish.

yes so do I and for any vehicle that wants to go faster than me which is why it p8sses me off when they cut in so soon despite nothing coming from the opposite direction

bikers are not all sinners but they're not all saints either

How about something more original in British Racing Green with a top of the line custom interior and air conditioning to enjoy those 100+ temperatures ?

as you ask - no

American tastes and British tastes are different

on my monitor the blacks more like dark green, either way the hood colour (with a 'u') isn't to my taste, also bright metal over sill's are more use for hiding rust than enhance the appearance, the earlier indicator/sidelight units are placed in a very odd position as are the the spot(?) lights, perhaps swapping positions of indicator/sidelight and spots(?) might improve both but the spots(?) don't really go with the shape of the front of the car

all just my opinion of course and each to their own as it would be a boring world if we all like the same

that looks better except for those chrome wheels and over sills, the interior colour wouldn't be practical for a car that's actually used regularly and with the top down

what you think enhances the car I think spoils it, again just a difference of opinion and country we live in

Nothing wrong with a wood veneer dash wink

Although I only put mine on as the original dash is well past it's best! Certainly looks better than some hammerite though biggrin

you could have just left the dash as it was or you can get high standard repainted dashes if you want/need the smart look but screwing wood veneer over with many visible screws and screw holes, you might just as well have nailed the various pieces on

as always each to their own

Oh, b*gger, agreeing with the relatively quite mature chap again.

Can't beat a nice black crackle finish dash on the B (or Midget for that matter).

The answer to the original question is undoubtedly 'yes' in the case of the BRG MGB GT (not 'MG MGB' as Clarkson put it in the Sunday Times ) which caught me up whilst I was cruising at 80 ish on the A19 in N Yorkshire last week .

Credit where it's due. This morning on the M40 I saw a green MGB GT, looking and sounding standard, doing 90 mph in the outside lane. Registration OOY ???F

I used to do Euro tours in my MGB Roadster V8. Whenever presented with a German autobahn I would happily take it to 120mph. Certainly kept concentration levels high as even with up-rated wilwood brakes and adjustable suspension it certainly didn't feel like a modern car!
