Are they even genuine Minilites?
If you are referring to the Cambridge Blue Aston....then yes, they do appear to be genuine Minilites. They are the now rare, Minilite Sports, which were Tech Del's alloy version of the Minilite wheel with a slightly different pattern and available in a centre fit as seen here.I can remember seeing a few DB6's and E-Type fitted with these back in the late 70's/early 80's.

Mine back in the day Cracking little cars, yet another I wish I still had ! The Tyres I had on in this pic were Pirelli P 7's [ I think ] VERY good grip but I only got 2500ms out of them
It's good to know it's passing among caring keepers. Interesting the silver notes then are now picked out in black. Not sure which I prefer.Back in the 80s a mate of mine had P7s on an Strada 130TC and he had the fronts down to the cord in about the same mileage.
I would have loved my Minilites to have been 7x13's but brake clearance issues and the difficulty in finding decent 13" road tyres in my preferred size of 205/60 forced the change to 15's.
Premium 205/50x 15 tyres are plentiful and cheap and keep the same overall rolling diameter as the standard 185/70x13.
Have another picture.....

I had the last set of pukka works AP brakes sold by PTS so brake clearance issue were never an issue for me running pukka magnessium 6x13 Minilites as they were designed to fit inside 6x13 mag Minilites And I always preferred not to overtyre the chassis so was content to stick with 185 tyres, and besides less is more when it comes to grip in a SL

Is that on an X-plate...?
If so, quite rare to see a Moonstone car on an 'X' plate, the vast majority are on 'Y' plates.
Yes, X plate. Bought the car new from the Chrysler/ Talbot Dealer in Southsea, PX,ing my Mk 1 black LS. It was one of the very first Mk 2's in blue. The dealership made a right pigs ear of re fitting the silver stripes as they were water stained, after several attempts and some paint they got is about right ! If so, quite rare to see a Moonstone car on an 'X' plate, the vast majority are on 'Y' plates.
Mine had an LSD, Bilsteins, lower springs, quick rack and the head and cams modded by Dave Smith.
It went well and was great fun the chuck about, side windows were often used to look up the road

Similar to mine - although the first attempt at suspension went wrong as the front Billie's came from PTS with forest front springs (as can be seen in the photo a few posts above with the higher front end ) instead of the ordered tarmac springs. So I had to get another set of springs sent - which again turned out to be forest ones.......

I thought exactly the same too, it looks too short. Perhaps the camera distorted it. I had a similar DB6 drop head in white many years ago. I didn't like it, slow and heavy. It sounded good though.hidetheelephants said:
Meh, my monitor has a ste colour balance.
I used to have a CX in a similar shade. Magnetic blue, the brochure called it.SWMBO swore that it was silver. I even parked it next to a silver one once. No, still silver, just a different silver... To this day, she insists...
