Right Boys and Girls,

BV72's MGB 55mph thread has got me thinking...for sheer humorous piss take we need a '55mph Club'.

My thoughts here are that it should be akin to Ecurie Cod Filet ethos but for those who drive MGB's, drive at 55mph, drive at over 55mph and for all those who do not own or drive an MGB. Simply an exclusively non-exclusive club badge and/or car sticker that will be instantly recognizable to other PH classic car owners. Of course a logo will be needed, this could be '55mph Club' or may be the 'FFC' which could also stand for the 'fking Fast Club'; either way the logo should carry some gravitas similar to HRDC, BRDC, ECF et al. Club rules should be as follows:

1. There are no Club rules
2. No moaners
3. Compulsory humour
4. Rules 1, 2 and 3 are mandatory

Breadvan72 will be Life Honorary Chairman and host the annual club gathering at his place...the invitation to which we'll all gladly accept.

LordBretSinclair to be awarded the annual 'Tart of The year Cup' for consistently posting more pics' of his cars than any other PH'er.

nta16[Nigel] to be Club Treasurer and Esteemed Guardian of the Sacred Glovebox Manual.

Lowdrag to be Club International Representative [Monsignor en France et du Mans].

and Benjj, Club Motorsport Raving Roving Northern Correspondent, similar to DSJ/Jenks but of taller stature and without the beard.

All those who'd like to join add names below

Breadvan72
LordBretSinclair
nta16
Lowdrag
Benjj

PS forgot to add the rofl

I like it.

Additional rules needed:

1) You can't talk about FFC ever to anyone, including and especially other members.

2) If asked about FFC you must deny all knowledge of its very being.

3) New members need to be asked to join. Which they won't. Ever. Due to rules 1 and 2.

Very good, but in my humble opinion a little too car related.

Like the Armed forces Veteran lapel badge covers all three of the services, perhaps something a little more inclusive ?

As an owner of a shiny mgb I feel I should be a member of this club! wavey

This club should have an organised cruse.. Meet up in tweed and leather, stop off for regular tea and toilet breaks, and obviously stick at a steady... You guessed it 55 mph hehe , preferably on NSL roads to slow those down behind and give them chance to take in the scenery biggrinbeer

Can I pop in with a colonial sports car albeit from a separate, if Mr & Mzz Fish, AKA Salmon(d) and Sturgeon have there way. I promise not to be too boring about V8s but so many of our colonial cousins don't drive similar cars to mine at anything like 55mph... me I'm afraid you would have to prefix that number by a 1, but lets not talk about that here.sleep

I can neither confirm or deny I am a member, nor can anyone else - see above rules. But I'm 8000 miles from home and I'd love to confirm that the other members have made me smile at a time I'm missing my fleet - but can't wink

Should the driver in the badge have a flat cap? For some reason, when learning German at school, 55 was my favourite number to say - Funf und funfzig - has a certain ring to it.
