2nd vote for a Capri, budget gets a decent 4 cylinder or a usable 2.8

Otherwise a 924s
Really? I was recently looking at 2.8 capris and there was certainly nothing useable for £1500-£2000

How much is a working Alfa twin cam these days? That one has a dead cylinder but looks very usable otherwise.

Oh? Might be a bit off target there then, paid £1800 for mine 4 years ago,95k with a full mot n minimal rust but an average respray.
Guess sillyfordpriceitus must be dragging things up!

Yeah, for a half decent, work in progress cars, starting prices are near £4k, good condition cars are now £7.5k+

I can remember a time when you couldn't give them away! 1990 I nearly bought a tidy 3.0S for £350.00 as an in-between car while I was waiting for an insurance payout on my nicked 2.8

Was only looking at Sprites as my mums first car was a sprite and its currently sitting unrestored in the garage. By the Scimitar and Scirocco looking the same, i meant the coupe body shape, although all Scimatars seem to be loads on insurance....
