$34.65m - considering the numbers banded about must be considered low(ish) - auctioneer pushing it like mad!

Almost a bargain at £20m

Might have a punt on this 250 GT now if prices stay this low wink

That was quite painfully drawn out, trying to squeeze the last $50k from the reluctant bidders.

This auction is painfully drawn out, with low estimates at best being the norm - he's mentioned "you've secured a bargain" atleast once when the gavel has come down.

It's all relative, of course, but I would say that was a pretty "sane" price.

Very interesting result.
I read that a lot of people were stuck in traffic. 250 GTO was lot #3. Odd choice.

once the investment market opens up a bit more and returns improve (i.e. 3-4 years time) we will see some price falls on these classics. Like many here, totally depressed reading asking prices on classic and sports car mag last week. even things like 911 Speedster 1989 -£99k... my thoughts, dream on pal!

Lot of over-interpretation here. Wasn't this was the car where one of the previous owners was killed when he crashed it? Had to be rebuilt by Ferrari. That's normally called a 'story car' on here.

I reckon the price will massively dissappoint and lead to the collapse of the classic car bubble.

Hang on a minute, I predicted $33m which was not only close but implies what you said too, so what do I win? smile

This is a great result for the classic car market.

What we can learn from the $38 million Ferrari 250 GTO

My prediction was made on a Fantasy Auction site but turned out to be right! Feel free to join me for the next round at RM http://www.ipropgames.com/pool/join/10214081537000...
