Van but sort of Classic

I had a mk1 CF Bedford sliding door ,1600cc three speed floor change.
Was slower than glacial drift , and reverse gear was where 4th would normally be , which was interesting when not concentrating .
Then I was offered a very rusty 2.3 VX4/90 with an overdrive box , a weekends work and suddenly I had a tyre smoking flying machine . Up to 70mph anyway, the back axle was never changed as it was only ever used for towing stock cars .

Just bought these pair. Needs work but rare beasts. Anyone know where I can get a 4x4 gearbox for them? Been converted to 2wd.
Hope to get one back on the road by the end of the year.

Helping to put miles on test vans .
CF with 2.3 magnum engines on single carbs 4x4 trans .
Christened DROFDEB's , cos thats all other motorists would see in the rear view mirrors .
They were thrashed round Millbrook test track and the Bedfordshire countryside, very often playing tag with Beds police on advanced driver training .
Those were the days !
Long shot but I think the transmission box was made by an engineering company in Ashford kent , I know they did the transit 4x4 too for Ford . trying to remember the name but were on the industrial estate near fisher aviation?
Found it MJ Allen also Trading as county tractors might be worth a shout?
original box was branded by Ferguson but I wonder who made it ?

I have still not aquired the bits to get the 4x4 up and running. It will take longer than thought due to rairity.
I have found another to scratch my itch -and its a minter MOT'd low miler. Just taken delivery of a 2.0 SWB panel van. Like a 1 year old van inside and out. Will upload photos later.
