Spotted by a friend of a friend and posted on Facebook. Looks very 70s kit car. Possibly VW or Alfasud based? I initially thought Porsche Tapiro but sadly not. Can anyone identify it?

I think it's a Siva S160, like this one

Wiki says

The Siva S160 Spyder is an automobile which was produced during the 1970s in Great Britain by Siva Engineering.

Conceived as a Hillman Imp-engine GT car for British sports car manufacturer Marcos, the car was ultimately re-designed to become the Siva S160 Spyder. The S160 was released at the 1971 Racing Car Show, utilising a Volkswagen Beetle floorpan and running gear and featuring a gullwing coupé body. It was offered as a complete car and as a bare body shell. A total of twelve S160s were produced.

A rare beast indeed!

Yes, my initial thought was Siva. I had a red Matchbox one when I was a kid and my 4 year old now plays with it.

Oliver.

Love the shot of the Siva, some one I know has a Raceabout or an Edwardian - didn't realise they ever made this one... Is that a bodykitted MX5 in the background? Not very convincing is it biggrin

Funnily enough my first thoughts were Seta or Zeta 'til I looked a bit closer. 'Remember "Timeslip" being featured in Hot Car magazine in about '78 or so.

Great find.

The sort of car you think should be put back on the road......but not by you!

How weird. My children were at my parents over the weekend and when I went to tidy up after them they had been playing with my old matchbox cars. As I put each one back I slowly remembered them all.

This one was the last I picked up and I realised I never knew what it was. Odd timing.

Think I remember this very car sat in a car dealers window at Lansdowne Road in Bournemouth for a couple of years in the mid 80's

Could well have been as he made 10 cars in the portsmouth area so im sure some would have stayed local. i wish there was one around still.

When I was a young boy in the early 1980's I used to see a red one of these regularly parked on a street on the outskirts of Bath from the back of dad's car.
I knew what it was as I had the Matchbox version.

I always meant to take my camera along one day and get dad to stop, then it just disappeared and I regret not getting photos of it while I had the chance.

Never seen one since.
