one more classic RR now back on the road, insured, taxed and MOT forthe first time in c. 8 years... not yet driving it as we are still doing some bits to it, but very soon!

Random question - does anyone know the whereabouts of a front roof header panel, part no. MXC8920 (the bit that goes across the top of the A pillars)?

The chap on EBay who puts up breaking adds that always have the picture of the three nice Rangies in a row seems to have a lot of unusual parts. Really nice chap as well.

Why is a UK seller -I presume - targeting the car at the US market?

Has it got a home made wood center console?

It could make a very decent RRC.

Are RHD conversions hard to do/expensive?

Not difficult, or particularly expensive but time consuming. The best way to do it, for both parts availability and expense, is to source a RHD donor.

What do folk make of this?

Seems c£3k over-priced to me, but he didn't respond when I asked what 'restoration work' had been carried out.
It's the owner of the garage who is selling it.

If you're serious about buying, phone the seller up. Or even better go and see it. The good thing with range rover classic's is that armed with a decent torch and prepared to look underneath you can practically see the condition of everything with a 10 minute inspection.

Personally, I have no idea of prices, but unless you're doing the work yourself, you can easily sink £3,000 in a full respray and welding. So like most RRC's the price of this one is dependent on condition, quality of paintwork etc. You're only have an idea of this by speaking to the seller, and ideally viewing it in person.

Cheers, Steve

If I read this right you feel this should be about £4k? I'm not sure what you expect for £4k but, assuming work has been done and the car is as nice as it appears, in the current market I'd say it was a pretty good buy. There are plenty advertised at double that that look in a similar condition.

Superb. He was the only chap we found with a fuel filler hose for the 1984 crossover car that had the revised fuel tank position but still the earlier fuel filler position thus allowing the later tank with the fuel pumps for injection engines to fit into a 72 car.

Five still seems a good price if it's solid.

I agree, 5 seems a good price if it's not rotten and it's in good shape. Shame it's no longer on the air suspension though as I feel this detracts from the vehicle.

seems like the vendor has some kind of sourcing partner in Spain who finds the vehicles, as he sold this one in December. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C827693

The reason he will be targeting the US is there is a roaring trade in importing left hand drive LR and RRs there for restoration. But they have to be over 25 years old to be legal.

Google Arkonik for some true LR resto-porn. Or Western Team Rovers on Facebook appear to do the same import service.

Personally I would have thought more cost effective to get a RHD one from S Africa !

I've a LHD two door that I bought for donor parts but it'actually has a pretty solid chassis and totally solid body.

This week I've mostly been thinking about stripping it out and kitting it out as a cheap wagon for some mild off road excursions in Europe. Stove etc in the back and a Magiolina on the roof.
