On positive side my day job is reverse engineering old parts. My limited experience of the RRC suggests rear parcel shelf slotted areas as a potential 3D printed standard part along with electric seat buttons.

Thoughts good or bad?

This one seems worth requiring about given the price:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291991565028

Seems to be about half the price of comparable cars at the moment.
If I lived in the UK I would buy that in a heartbeat..
Looks great! Do you think they've missed a "1" off the front of the price?
Just don't know. If it is what they claim it is then its cheap.
That looks a terrific buy, very tempting.

The car is an 82 4 door so the inner stuff like engine bay is all satin black - that's not being redone

But yes panels off and all visible body colour areas repainted

£5k I think

Has anyone attempted to fix a heated seat element?
A chap local to me off the rangerover.net forum did mine. Both sorted in a day and its lovely to have them working again.
I don't think its that difficult to strip the seat - the hog rings look a bit vicious to me. Be prepared to find multiple breaks and to re route the elements off the metal structure of the seat as that seems to be a big issue with wear getting in and out. I did read that a ceramic heating element is available (generic I imagine) which would get around the elements breaking.
I may ask to have an uprated thermostat fitted as it doesn't get that warm but its very nice in this weather.

there are lots of 72/3 cars for sale

but I've rarely seen one as lovely as this Lincoln Green M reg newly restored

and what an amazing back story / provenance. It would be v v cool indeed to own. reminds me slightly of the Land Rover that went across Africa thats been featured in Octane mag

POA the 3 most annoying letters in any advert and I cant be arsed to find out as I'm not in the market...but just achingly desirable imho

That's lovely. Looks a bit "old" for my taste but you can't knock its appearance. I'd be terrified of scratching the bottom tailgate with all that exposed paint. West Nicholson is in the middle of Zimababwe!

Thanks - I've got a pair of Waeco kits which have been waiting (indefinitley) to go into my 109", wondering if it might be easier just to stick those in.

That's exactly what I did with mine, rather than trying to repair the failed elements already in place I fitted a Waeco kit. One tip, use small cable ties instead of trying to do battle with the original metal retaining rings.

Interesting! Did you remove the original elements? Haven't looked to see how or where they fit into the seat structure.

No, they're well stuck to the seat cushion and I didn't see the need to try and remove them, just placed the kit over the top.

That is a gorgeous colour. I'm at mid restoration stage on a CSK which 'has' to be Beluga black, but I can't help thinking the value wouldn't be affected much if it was another colour (like this). Black never suited RRCs too well in my opinion as the floating roof effect was lost.

the car I am having done up was special order black from factory in 82. which I really wanted to retain because its rare. BUT i totally agree it just doesnt suit the RR as all the details get lost. hence my colour change

Donkey apple, what are those wheels on your green two door?

I'm currently restoring a 91 200 tdi range rover and am undecided to keep it the original colour or one I prefer. It's a dark bronzes redish colour with Gary interior. Il keep it to its period but may have it finished more to my liking. I must get some pictures up soon!

Great to see so many different styles of range rover on here!
They are a wolfrace wheel. I think called 'turbines'. They were used on a lot of the 70s/80s conversions.
There is a very rusty red 2 door on eBay 71/2 I think with a set in gold. Best part of the car!
