a 7.2L Schuler...
7.2! What do the scuttle vents do on these big engined cars? I've noticed them on some Overfinch cars as well.
Other than the holes for the bonnet hinges, the scuttle area is closed off from the engine bay, so why vent it?
Is there so much heat to get rid of? I suppose it's such a thin panel that it's probably very easy to cut and vent.

The heat can come up the sides of the bonnet into that area of the scuttle so it allows the hot air to vent. Schuler became Overfinch in later years so it's the same style of vent. What do the scuttle vents do on these big engined cars? I've noticed them on some Overfinch cars as well.

Can't believe no one has yet commented on the £114k asking price for the JD classics car
Is a bit of back story really worth that much??!
It's a difficult one. The reality is that the resto work has totally eradicated any actual heritage. There's no patina or anything physical to pay for so it's just a premium because it drove on a few roads and some photos of it feature in a book. Is a bit of back story really worth that much??!
It's not like it's one of the Darien Gap cars. To me it's a 72 car well restored but with cheap aftermarket carpets and metric bolts all over, I'm failing to see any real value in the story.
Finally did the wipers on mine today.
Pig of a job, but many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Used the Bosch ones from Halfords. Took them home and disassembled them.
The old rubber was pretty knackered. Slide it out and then used pliers to open up the channel a little.
Once back in I used the pliers to (very) gently close them back again.
I dare say that is the trickiest wiper change I'm ever likely to do!

does anyone know any good classic car and ideally Range Rover expert body shops in north Wiltshire? Bit of an incident today and mine needs some minor front end attention
Thanks
Sorry to hear. If it is minor then there's no reason why you can't pick up grills, bumpers, wings, bonnets on eBay and fix yourself? Thanks
Thanks - I will try Andy Mitchell. I have thought about fixing it myself but as it wasn't my fault i don't feel like doing it. It should all be bolt on parts unless anything is bent behind the bumper. You should have seen the other guy though!
The other party has admitted liability and asked if I would consider not doing it via insurance which I'm ok with.
Thanks for the suggestions

there are lots of 72/3 cars for sale
but I've rarely seen one as lovely as this Lincoln Green M reg newly restored
and what an amazing back story / provenance. It would be v v cool indeed to own. reminds me slightly of the Land Rover that went across Africa thats been featured in Octane mag
POA the 3 most annoying letters in any advert and I cant be arsed to find out as I'm not in the market...but just achingly desirable imho

Not the car for me though, I much prefer the later RRC models

It's been messed around with but it's an early 4 door.
I'm on a train and about to get off so can't read the ad .
The wheels look period.

Run for the hills. It looks like it has spent most of its life as a AWDC pace car.
You'll have no competition from me on bidding for that one

Yeah I was in a bit of a rush but thought it was worth posting . I was thinking when I saw the odd front air dam that it might be a Monteverdi .It looks like it has spent most of its life as a AWDC pace car.

Has anyone added extra sound proofing under the carpets in a attempt to further refine there range rover?
My 200 tdi one is a bit more brash than a v8 and I'm considering doing some work to quieten things down a little. I may even fit new body mount rubbers etc to try and help? Any reports on owners experiences, greatly received

The 200TDi is a bomb-proof unit but rough as a badger's arse.
Try some under bonnet soundproofing first. It's surprising how much clatter comes in that way.
There was some bulkhead soundproofing that you could install in Defenders too. I'll try to remember what it was.
ETA. Noise Killer was the stuff I was thinking of.
