Facepalm.
Some folk just don't get it when something's being offered FREE The polite answer would simply to decline to look if you really didn't want to but maybe that's all the decorum you get at that time in the morning.

You get hissy prissy because a freebie is not to your perfect specification". Bless.
I must have missed something because I read it that he politely asked a very simple question and you and someone else have been unnecessarily fking rude. I honestly don't get the 'face palm' remark, that's gone straight over my head I'm afraid. PS, junk the bonnet, all the value is in the original bonnet liner. They are hens teeth and anyone doing a true resto needs them. Stick it on Ebay at a silly price and one of them will come knocking for a haggle. My money will be on it being a chap who is only a few miles away from you.

I'm sure someone will appreciate BV's undoubtedly kind offer.
Now lets get back to talking about range rovers.
Just ordered a few switch bulbs as my dash is a bit dim in places. Hopefully that's all it is.
Anyone know what the bulbs for the gear selector film are?
They look like mini G4 bulbs but there are no markings.

I've a 92 LSE - which has a rubbish heater - mildly warm air only...
Any idea's?
Engine warms up fine - pipes get hot - i suspect a climate control issue - but where do I even start with that?!
I change the abs pump once as the pipes were shot - what a song and dance that was to bleed! It was basically a voodoo dance ritual!

That's a very well known issue and easy to fix (apart from the bugger of a job getting to the matrix by removing the dash). Any idea's?

I can't tell you the specific fix but know a lot of people have fixed it themselves and ended up with a seriously hot heater. I'm sure that if you Google you'll find a walk through for it.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread, we need some more RRC content!
I've had an eventful couple of months with mine, I finally got around to changing the thermostat because I was getting fed up of no warm air in the cabin, and the fact it always ran rich (the EFi runs rich until water temperature hits 78c, apparently), and unless you were driving it flat out on a very warm summers afternoon, the gauge would hardly budge.
Changed the 'stat which was easy enough, but after a couple of days it started to run rough, then wouldn't start at all... Checked that we had spark on all 8 plugs, replaced the rotor arm, cap, leads, checked the timing etc, and still wouldn't run. Changed the plugs, and fired straight into life! Plugs must have been ruined after running constantly rich for so long.
I'm even finding the fuel consumption reasonable at the moment, local driving is yielding between 12-13mpg, a 300 mile round trip to Frome and back this weekend cruising between 70-80mph with some full throttle runs to 5k in-between achieved almost 19mpg (this was better than my Td5 Discovery got at similar speeds through France!), and a 60mph run takes it up to nearly 24mpg.
And apart from the plugs above, it really hasn't missed a beat, and has never failed to start in even the coldest or wettest of weather. It may be a 24 year old shed, but it has a character that nothing else I've ever owned can get close to.
It is looking especially sheddy at the moment without a rear bumper and the lower valance (never mind the state of the rest of the body ), but I have all the parts ready to fit once my gout ridden foot sorts itself out
ETA: Oh, and for the life of me, I cannot get the original Clarion headunit out of the dash! So that's the next job

I think the Autobox on mine is on borrowed time
The box on my classic failed not long after I bought it (I had no drive in Drive but if I used the lever manually the car worked perfectly.Investigation revealed that "Sprag Clutch A" had failed, I replaced the box with a second hand unit as it was cheaper than a rebuild.
