Diagnostics request, '93 LSE - have a hissing sound coming from the passenger footwell, sounds like speaker interference but doesn't change with engine speed. It's only there with the engine running, and it's constant. I'm pretty certain after poking around that it's nothing to do with the air suspension and it's not audible from outside - any guesses?

It's the footwell fizzing as it corrodes....Edit: spoken as a RRC owner

Ideal environment for a Rangie. RR was a real game changer when it appeared in 1970. and the Classic design has become timeless.
Both sunroofs tilted open, do you have misting issues?
No misting issues, just like a bit of fresh air, I think the old man is the same Both sunroofs tilted open, do you have misting issues?

So what is the consensus on the best year to get for a RRC(or as close to one as there can be)? Is is post 90 to get the 3.9 engine and as many mod cons as possible?
If you can't do a 2 door and the budget is a few thousand then people seem to think the 3.9 is good news and to minimise electrical issues stick with a non SE. However you then miss out on leather, electric seats and a few other bits. I've had mine 4 years and no electrical issues at all. No doubt there will be more knowledgeable folks with differing views. Typically buy the best condition you can find!

I'm also running 205R16's and feel that there would be nothing gained by having wider tyres given the cars capabilities.
I bought a set of Uniroyal Rain Experts for around £400 and although not a typical brand for a Rangie I rate them very highly indeed. Quiet, comfortable and, as the name alludes, outstanding in the wet.
I've got 235 BFG All Terrains on the original alloys on mine. But it goes off road frequently and I wanted a tyre I knew. Plus, I think they look better (I put the white lettering on the inside though). No full lock issues either. I wouldn't go wider though, they're a classy vehicle and any hint of chav is wrong.....I bought a set of Uniroyal Rain Experts for around £400 and although not a typical brand for a Rangie I rate them very highly indeed. Morning. That was a bespoke Alpine install by the previous owner which cost him nearly £20 or £30k! The chubby box was adapted and full of single din units and the right hand side of the boot had a cabinet with God knows what in there. I found it mild overkill for Radio 4
But all the dash screen was was a bespoke triangular box attached over where the coin tray had been removed using the same locating holes.
Thank you, might just make one then! But all the dash screen was was a bespoke triangular box attached over where the coin tray had been removed using the same locating holes.
Has anyone had dealings with Designa Chassis before?
My Dad has ordered a replacement chassis from them (think LR even recommend them as the only people who do the chassis). However the delivery date keeps getting pushed right with a just an endless amount of excuses. Think the chassis was originally due for delivery in Oct/Nov time.

Is the fan on?
Something electrical under the seat?
Not the fan, it sounds like air escaping and it's coming from somewhere around the upper passenger footwell.Something electrical under the seat?

Other than the aircon unit I can't think of anything that's in the passenger footwell. Any noise I've ever had from there has been the fluttering noise of the rear bolt on the exhaust manifold needing a turn as gasses are leaking. Used to happen on my Griff also.
