Nonsense. All it needs is chrome wiper blades and it's ready to go.

I need a new pair of rear 3/4 window seals. I had a pair ordered and paid for from ebay last year but that fell through. I've found a co called atkinson bespoke engineering in Birmingham who are selling pairs at £320 which is quite alot but as they are NLA from LR such is life.
Has anyone used them or does anyone have an alternative source?
I assume that all 4 door cars have the same pattern for this window, including the LSE?
Thanks

i've been flirting with them for years...everything from suffix A to CSK. I've come close, but was always too busy or too poor after burning far too much cash on classic 911s

recently decided it was time for action. I cant afford a really good proper 70-73, havent got the appetite for an eBay 2-5k rustbucket, and whilst I really like the early 4 doors and suspect they are "money good" [eg the one coming up in a few weeks at historics Brooklands auction) I have always wanted the iconic 2 door look

So. possibly a massive punt I may live to regret but I have bought this 1980 car from South Africa, The theory being it should have less rot. we will see. Full interior retrim in Palomino colour leather before its shipped back (cost effective)

My plan is not a nut and bolt job, more a sympathetic refurb with some performance and usability mods.

Tuscan blue and Lincoln green were both 1980 colours and are both in the running. Am I right that on that model year the inner shell is black??

Secondly would anyone with direct customer experience of Twenty Ten please be kind enough to PM me

more after it arrives

That looks good, how did you find it? I have a hankering for a Series 1 Landy but am less keen on paying 6k for a wreck!

call Darren at Simba 4x4, very helpful chap

overnight update from Gauteng Trimmers:

looking fairly clean and tidy inside at this very early stage. And if the previous owner has managed to keep the original carpets complete with "BL" rubber heel pad, that bodes well for the condition and completeness of the car

have answered my own question about the black inner shell. think this came in from 79 model year. basically makes a colour change FAR easier....ie. the underbonnet, door shuts etc are all black

other advantage of 79 on is you get power steering

That looks rather good. Looking forward to seeing how the re-trim goes.

I also particularly like the SA registration plate smile

In the early 70’s my Dad had a “mk1” RR, was a dirty red colour as I remember.
I recall being taken on holiday to Spain in it with Family friends, 7 up complete with Mirror dingy on the roof! The RR never missed a beat.

3 of us were under 14 smile

i wont get excited until I see the car in the flesh but there are hints that the condition is good

its not uncommon to see the boot floor and inner rear wings & arches completely rotten

but this looks decent

carpets and leather is an unbelievably quick and tidy job. It once took me 3 months to get Southbound to answer an email about basketweave 911 vinyl... this has been turned around inside 1 week. Hard to be sure on the exact shade but its beige / palomini esque and good enough for me. Should look very good with a classic colour

car ships on Friday, probably should have it end of July, after that off for restomod

Mine got through the MOT this morning with just 1 advisory (A leak which is required on a Landie wink )

Downside was I was greeted by this site as I jumped in it to take it to the garage.

Got some 3M tape to take the strain off the wiring until I can get it sorted censored

Did you get anywhere with these? I'd like to do mine before the winter, but it's a lot of money if they are rubbish.

I've been using this pretty much as a daily driver, currently waiting to get some welding done, also a nasty rust blister on the a pillar under the windscreen rubber.

Everything works, air con blows cold, had to update gas filler to take new style gas
electric seats ok, radio crap as it has in glass antenna.

I love the waftiness of it, Lpg (sorry) makes it not too eyewatering in fuel cost. Alas nearest LPG shop is 10 miles away. Hopefully will keep this for years

MY brother recently bought this.

It might not look mint, but the pics do it a far disjustice. It's actually quite solid and won't take a lot to sort.

It's a 2.5 VM. And hold special appeal as this was our Mothers car and I actually learnt to drive on the road in it. It was sold in 2000. It was sadly stolen not long after and used in a ram raid, then bought back from the insurers by the new owners. But they never put it on the road again. It's just stood in a driveway since 2004!!

Will be fun making it look like it used to. Lots of very good memories with this Range Rover.

That's looking good. I like the fact they've colour matched the new carpet with the exact colour that the original bronze carpet goes after 20 years in the African sun.
