that would be perfect for someone restoring a CSK
I'd say it would be perfect as it is, seems a shame to break it up. Will be interesting to see what it fetches.

Trouble is that it's had a respray and a total retrim, is sitting in another country and has been resisted due to a 'time waster'.

It could be a great car but it could also be a pile of dust.

So, I bought another RR yesterday, unseen from a work colleague. It's been off the road for 4-5 years and is unloved.
It's a 91 Vogue 3.9 auto. Clearwater Blue with grey teddy bear cloth. The blue is not very common and looks quite nice in the flesh.

The engine is a peach but it will obviously need welding and general TLC. I spent some time today actually making the exterior doors handles work as neither front door opened from the outside! Also now has working but slow front windows

I bought it to stop it decaying further and I love the idea of getting it back on the road but am not entirely sure what I will do with it. Had thought about keeping for the kids but not exactly the cheapest first car!

Anyhow, pictures!

Just read this whole thread over the course of today. Now have major want for a Classic Range Rover. I have no need for one, just major want.

My only experience of one was nearly thirty years ago. My old scout leader had a four door Vogue which I got a lift in once. It seemed proper posh and I've never forgotten the time I spent in it.

Someone mentioned Kingsley earlier in the thread so I had a little look. My fantasy Lotto garage has a new addition....

This is gorgeous. Is it a CSK that's been repainted?

Euro 2 door converted to RHD - no point tarting up an already-expensive CSK.

Cheers. I thought it would have been an odd thing to do with a CSK. The one in the photo does look great though.

hey..hi Tim!!

hope u and yours well!!?

nope this is a different one..still have sally..(blown lexus lump)...though she awaiting the twin plate clutch at the moment..( a certain well known motosport clutch company just took 2 1/2 months to build me the new flywheel and clutch, but decided to NOT use the dimensions from the flywheel i sent them!!big expensive dooh on their behalf..and another 2 odd weeks for me to wait!!..why ask for my flywheel and then decide to ignore it???...(imagine round hole and try to fit in an oversize square peg..)....but still they have been excellent in past ..so not naming them..assuming this to be a one off feck up...i hope)

no this is Ruby..1971 suffix a..no rot..4.6 LR service exchange , big valves, high lift cam, decent headers, m112 blower, 100hp nitros hit..hp24eh box mated to lt230..gearbox and engine megasquirt/shift controlled..flappy padels etc..m3 seats..wall to wall carpet..etc..NOT concourse, but a driver..

thing is cant drive both...so one sits...and i prefer sally..cos she manual..and she just had new paint job...so think Ruby needs to go to new home where she lives indoors during winter...

how many you have now?..did you ever get your 2 door done to as you like??

if any of you fancy taking over custody of this beauty from me. I have decided to send it to Coys Auction on 29th October at the Classic and Sportscar Show at Alexander Palace. A shame to see it go after 16 years of ownership, but life changes doesn't it?

Well that could be correct! but we all use pseudonyms I thought? Do I now you? I suppose I do Mr DA? Anyway, I will be very sad to see the old girl go. Bought 16 years ago at the height of my enthusiasm and energy levels, now here we are, a bit older, a bit poorer and soon to be without the lovely NXC231H.

Friend of mine's father has a 1990 (I think) on a G ( I think) Range Rover Vogue V8 I(in maroon, grey three spoke alloys) in his garage... been there since I started driving so we're talking 1998. It was parked up in running condition - recently had carb work (that may help with the year?) an alloy tailgate (I think) and a stainless exhaust. I know it now won't start and the bonnet lacquer is poor. But, it was put away dry and the general condition is very very good, interior is immaculate.

He's debating selling now, he's of an age where it will never be returned to the road and I have to admit, it has crossed my mind a few times. I think it'd be cheap, as in a few hundred pounds but having done some basic research, it worries me that it'll be a complete and utter money pit. Would be a crying shame if one day he just phoned the local breakers...

Luckily (the car was bought on a wing and a lot of prayer) the new purchase of a Range Rover 3.9 Vogue SE has passed the garage post purchase check. They deemed it solid and needing about £700 of work to get everything working and a service undertaken. ABS light is on and needs sorting by someone with kit to solve, so a mystery as to cost to fix so far.

What I would like help with is re cosmetics and ongoing:
- Recommendation re sorting headlining and sunroof blind (falling off). Car has a sunroof if this makes any difference.
- Does anyone know of someone familiar with rustproofing a Classic?

Many thanks.

That looks lovely!

Headlining can be done by a local trimmer, or alternatively with a fibreglass replacement like this:
http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C75125

One of the Land Rover forums has a good guide to someone DIY'ing it, but I can't find it now.

Mine was sagging at the back, and I pinned it up with twist pins to put it on a bit longer:

Nice purchase! There's a guy down in Taunton who supplies and fits new headlinings. I've used him and his work his top notch. I've lost his contact details but I'm sure someone else will know who I mean.
