I would disable the LPG system and make sure the ignition timing is set for petrol (6 degrees BEFORE TDC). Double check that number 1 piston is at the top AND the rotor arm is pointing to 5 o'clock'ish, because it's possible to be 180 degrees out. Try it with your new amp and old plugs, rather than sticking all the new stuff in at once, and we'll all keep our fingers crossed!

Here is mine, bought 18 months ago, turned out to have had some very creative repairs with filler and sheets of tinplate, so ended up doing rear arches, sills, floors body mounts, kick panels, inner wings, both rear doors and the tailgate.

Good points are that mechanically I have had to noting more that 1 brake pipe.

I am going for the retro look, most of it has been repainted in Warwick green, roof will be done next year along with making the rear overriders and re-fitting A/C. Also thinking about the vertical slot grille.

Think that will look great with a vertical grille and maybe silver wheels?

Watch this space. LPG currently disabled and it goes to hospital tomorrow. I know the timing isn't 180 out, definitely, although it could be out a small amount.

New amp is out for delivery to me today.

And then tomorrow I'm going to nip over ad meet xjsracer44, who has massively kindly offered the loan of various parts from his running-but-rusty RRC. Initial plans are to pop off the MAF sensor, the two relays under the seat and the ECU itself (just to ensure mine's working). After that, who knows.

Will report back once there have been more attempts to fire her up!

Stripes you say?

The vendors original deal fell through so I snapped it up. In Vogue loveliness

nice history file with the car. The 2nd owner bought it in 1985 and kept it until 1998...did 60,000 miles and I'm thinking must have loved it. Note he was given only £1000 p/x for his J reg 2 door Range Rover in Tuscan Blue which must have been suffix A or B?

having paid £14k inc interest (not shown below but the finance was at 24% APR !!!) the car's low point was £1750 in 1998

ps bloody annoying why these photos are going sideways. no idea why apologies !

You have to love the purity of the mid 80s cars...but to sell an early 2 door for 1k...whish I was there!

I've been holding off posting here again because I haven't done my wipers yet which I said I'd do ages ago..

But, Cappo, I just wanted you to know that another random internet stranger is rooting for you! Best of British Sir..

Also, keeping this great thread full of nice pictures. Here is a really lovely looking one I saw this summer and came across the pictures earlier:

I've always liked that later Warwick Green colour. I seem to remember one driving over a drawbridge into a castle in maybe an Inspector Clouseau or another Peter Sellers film.

I really couldn't get on with the colour.
Mainly because my wife and kids used to complain about having to go in the "snot green" car.

I bought that on ebay - it was a suffix A with a later body and interior. Very sound but when I had it it had a vinyl roof and leaky webasto.

Brilliant. Does show how flawed one's childhood memories are as that's clearly Lincoln Green!! (Maybe it was due to the colour tube of my parents first colour TV)

I still like the Warwick Green. There's something wonderfully ghastly about it.

All the 83 in vogues were that colour. I like it!

For my restomod I've been umming and ahhing over colours and in the end I've decided to uses a RAL colour

3rd one chosen - a kind of green grey.
