The Range Rover Classic thread:
Discussion
there are lots of 72/3 cars for sale
but I've rarely seen one as lovely as this Lincoln Green M reg newly restored
and what an amazing back story / provenance. It would be v v cool indeed to own. reminds me slightly of the Land Rover that went across Africa thats been featured in Octane mag
POA the 3 most annoying letters in any advert and I cant be arsed to find out as I'm not in the market...but just achingly desirable imho

Robert Coucher from Octane sells his RRC as repairs could be massive cost. Pity. Looks like he had some fun with car.
This Range Rover Classic thing as witnessed over many posts on this thread seems fraught with danger and a bit of random luck. Also ruinous repair cost vs a perfect restoration vs selling and moving on covers all practical ability and depth of pocket.
Myself, bought a RRC in a really dopy way, but after 1.5k of work and 3K purchase price, need to spend a further 5K on various areas to get a car far away from concourse, but to the man on the street looking like new and everything works.
Big decision, for me, as to whether to go ahead or just sell a car that is amazingly for an RRC doing 18mpg and never broken down or showed signs of breaking down. Also cost of finding a perfect another. Can understand RC dilemma.
The SDB660 RRC.

This one seems worth requiring about given the price:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291991565028
Seems to be about half the price of comparable cars at the moment.

SWMBO appeasement. Spend £5K on getting air suspension back up and running, new rear three quarter window seals, electric mirrors fixed, front diff seal sorted, electric seats sorted, interior fan resistor fixed and smart repairs to front screen and various paint issues. Really Love the car. Alternative is to sell. Am in for 4.5K at moment. 1993 Vogue SE.
