I saw this on another forum I visit and thought it may be of interest to some here;

"Anyone who has ever driven past Bank Top Garage in Prestwick (near Newcastle Airport) will have seen the old Albion petrol tanker lying in the hedge & looking very sorry for itself. It lay there for around 40 years & unbelievably still had air in it's tyres. Well sometime around 18 months ago it disappeared after being bought by locally renowned restorers Gilbert Dawson & John Sullivan & restoration is now completed & what a transformation."

That is beautiful. Never saw it lying in disrepair but can imagine how bad it looked in a hedge!

Think that's the garage I called into a couple of weeks ago looking for a wheelbrace, helpful guy sorted me out with the wedge.
Thanks

Lovely, reminds me of the Song from that famous North East Singer/Songwriter, 'Sure as the sunrise, that's what they say about the Albion'.

What a beauty, some years ago I found a plastic toy version of a National Benzole tanker that looks just like that.
