But it seems a few sold under estimate, and a few not sold.....
Agreed - but what did sell seems to have sold very well

Still hope that prices begin/continue to fall, so that these fantastic old classics become more affordable to the real enthusiasts rather than the investors who are buy them as investments never to be seen out on the open road again, i personally would`nt be able afford to re buy my own cars anymore ! crazy...

I know this car well, if fact I made enquires about it about two years ago when it was up for sale for just under £700k. Even at that time that would have made it the most expensive Lusso on the market.

Its current auction estimate I think is at this time very high as again this will make it the most expensive Lusso to come to market this year. To illustrate the top price paid at auction this year was £1.475 million, and that was a show quality car which makes it almost £250k lower than the low estimate for this one.

And here's the rub, as good a general restoration as this car is it does have a number of issues that would preclude it from gaining top marks on a show field and at this level these car have to be period correct. This car is not.

I could well be proved wrong but I will be very surprised if I am
So it seems I was right, even so it the sale price still makes it probably the most expensive standard Lusso to have sold at auction. The seller will be laughing all the way to the bank.

The buyer on the other hand, if they were taking this car on as an investment, might well get their fingers burned in my opinion, especially when you add the buyer’s premium. It’s a nice car but not a correct car. Better Lusso's were sold at Monterey a couple of weeks ago for a lot less money

Well here is a turn up for the books, it appears this Lusso was bought in as stock by Talacrest, the well known Ferrari dealer. It would be interesting to see what kind of premium he will be expecting for a quick flip...

You can see the listing here:

I did hear that several sellers at the sale were very unhappy with the way the auction was presented, the lack of sparkle from the auctioneer and the general atmosphere. Perhaps Bonhams would have done better?
