Well fancy that!

Certainly no Barns in Kingston, wonder if my original thread had anything to do with its removal ?

I think the 541 is a lovely looking car. I don't think anyone could accuse the CV8 of being pretty, but I really like them, but the 541 is better looking.

For those who don't like loose ends I can now say that the car in the original photo is chassis number 104/2262 and it survives in Australia where it has been since 1971.

I have always adored the C-V8 for so many reasons.
Here is a blog I wrote ages ago about my obsession: Jensen C-V8 obsession
Hope posting that is not a problem. If it is, mods please feel free to remove. Thanks.

Good to hear it still survives - I like a happy ending!

I seem to remember one being featured in a TV advert for capital radio

I agree about the looks a8, but I used to look after one for a local lad and I found the engine was just so wrong for a sports car. It is the ultra long stroke Austin engine from the Princess and it was most reluctant to rev. It was also very heavy over the front axle.

The CV8 has a gorgeous Chrysler unit that sounds fantastic with bags of torque in true yankee V8 style.

I like both the 541 and the CV8, although for me the 541 is the better looking car.

The engine in the 541 is basically a six cylinder version of the Healey 100/4 engine.

My wife took this picture recently when some classic cars were on display in Spitalfields. smile

So if anybody wants a go in one...

looking at the website they appear to have two CV8s on the fleet so obviously a popular choice for a drive

I followed that one up the M27 /M3 on Sunday. Motoring along very nicely!
