I suspect it's 50 years since Triple C started, I'm organising a display of ex Triple C cars next year and wondered if anyone knew of any existing Cars and Car Conversions competition cars. Already located the Brian Harvey Unipower GT, RHE's Cox GTM, Will Sparrow's rally Mini and Fred Game's race Mini. Any others anywhere?

Not sure if it ever appeared in CCC (I expect it did though) but I know the current owner of Roy Mapple's Orange Box, Rallying Mini.

Still going strong and still competing. Currently sponsored by Mini Sport.

Dave Walker of Emerald had the Fiesta project car up until recently - might be worth a call.

Keep us informed of this - I was an avid reader from the 70's!

I believe Dave Walker's fiesta currently resides with PPC magazine, but not sure if it currently runs.

I now own the Carburol Special which featured in CCC sometime in the late 1970's although it's currently stripped and in boxes awaiting a total restoration.

My Ultima GTR-S graced the cover of the last ever CCC.

Sadly, like the mag, it's no longer with us frown

What exactly to you mean by an ex triple C car? Is their project cars or any car that was featured in the magazine?

Either project cars they built, cars the staff ran in competiton in CCC livery or sponsored like the Sparrow Mini. They built a sprinted Mini Traveller and a Jem as I remember and gave away these cars usually as they did with an Imp and an Anglia.

If you get in touch with the Mini Marcos owners club, they may well know the whereabouts of the Jem.

Think it's now with Kev Leaper of PPC and Retro Ford magazines

I was at an autojumble a few years ago and someone sold me a whole years worth of CCCs in a binder for a fiver, I bit his arm off.

My wife just thought I was mad

Last I remember seeing it in PPC mag. it was still in DW's hands and he was maybe messing about with the engine on his new flow bench? Wasn't too long ago.

I've still got loads of CCCs, including my dad's from the 60's.

I'd love to know what happened to their old mk2 Golf GTI from the '80s.

Blockhead media now owns Retro Ford, maybe it's a joint project?

It's sitting his workshop, well it was the few times I've been up there.
