When i got home from work i took the following photo.

And, long story short, i think the car looks great with some mud on it.

Anyone else got a photo of their classic looking rather dirty?

An odd thread, but im bored. Im sorry.

This definitely needed a wash - some of the mud was still there a couple of years later when I took the windscreen off!

My brother has run a car valeting firm for 15 yrs or so and he has spoken to many owners who prefer the "rallied" look on their vehicle. Some surprising and collectable cars too Ferarri F40, Porsche Cayenne, TVR's etc. or maybe his prices are a bit high?

think I may have posted this before, but it seems fitting for this thread. Post Rally Of The Tests shot of the Healey. This is actually a cleaner version as we had torrential rain in Wales the previous day which washed a lot of the mud off.

This looked a lot worse in person, after the trip back from Oulton Park Gold Cup this year. Silver never looks all that dirty until it's half-washed.

Johnfm above navigated on that rally. Was just a 1 dayer but we gave it absolute pedal in the big old Citroen and got a gong at the end of the day...

Car took a bit of a pasting but it is what it was built for. 3 punctures that day. Never used st inner tubes again after that, lesson learned smile

Great topic. I'm sure Tony will be along soon with some lovely pictures of his cars not being trailer queens. Cars should be driven and that makes them dirty.
A few years back someone brought a lovely XK120 OTS to the JEC meeting on a summers evening. The back of the car gleamed as he'd spent a hour or so lovingly polishing the car. The front was a covered in dead flies as he'd then jumped into the car and driven it as an XK should be driven. I can't find the pictures at the moment, but that was the sort of thing I like to see, love your car enough to polish her and then love her some more from behind the wheel.
