I love this. That's how a rally car should be used thumbup
It's not really in keeping with the concept of this thread though is it? - When that picture/footage was taken, that car wasn't a classic, it was brand new.
'Classic' Safari.... ie a recent photo, last couple of years perhaps.
Yeah - because it was bone dry in '93: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq4IlMEk-_A

Lighting wasn't great to show how grubby she was. But having seen some of the cars here I'm ashamed I hadn't tried harder.

Some people polish their Jags, others try to see how many reversing lights they can fit on them apparently.

Does this count:

This is after using the car for work twice this week, so about 230 miles.

This was my daily driver up until a year ago, so was looking like this more often than not.

I know it's easy to get the back end out in an XK, but I've never felt the need to be able to see where I'm going like that at the time.

French, Swiss and Italian fly count after 2,000 miles. Note brake dust accumulation too!

My own small contribution. It was never that dirty before or since.

That reminds me of when I'd just finished cleaning my GT4 when the Mrs came out the house and said "If I take your car you could wash mine for me" and shot off to a meeting up near Stewkley. A couple of hours later she came back with a silly grin on her face with "Go wells doesn't it" and mud all over the it including the roof.

nice and dirty!

Hope you don't mind me asking, but with it being a XR4 shell on a '91 J plate, what's the story with it?

I built it myself using a brand new XR4i shell and a 1991 XR4x4 donor.

It had to pass an SVA because of the change from RWD to 4x4, then it got an age-related plate.

Cool, I remember back in the '90s seeing brand new Sierra Cosworth shells at a salvage place near York, hanging from the walls!

I had a twin turbo XR4x4 at the time and I always wanted to put that running gear in to a 3 door.

But I got greedy for boost and ended up blowing the engine....
