elf and safety didnt exist in the 60's you should have seen them cutting up steam engines, asbestos lagging the lot

That old army staff car getting crushed was a tragedy.
As for that camp ! Must have been staged - way too tidy.

AAARGH, skipped through that but the sight of those blokes casually throwing stuff into the incinerator with the ineffective safety chain around it made my toes curl.

One trip away from fiery death!

On the other hand, if all those cars that were crushed had been preserved instead, they'd now be so common that none of them would be worth anything ... so would have ended up in the crusher anyway!

Nah, they were OK 'been doing this job 25 years Guv' not had accident in all that time so it must be safe'. hehe
