in bloody Yorkshire.

I kid you not......I'm always on the look out for something to add to the collection so I'm searching constantly but everything is in Yorkshire when I'm in Kent

There must be a huge classic car community up there.

What are you after? I may be parting with my E34 M5 but I'm still 50/50.

I happen to live in Yorkshire [God's county] and used to live in Kent smile

There's a lot of fine folk in Yorkshire with the taste for classic cars.

Not sure about Classic Cars, the roads are covered in horse st and mud from the farmers driving their tractors out from the fields onto the road. it's a bloody disgrace quite honestly, and I'm fed up with it.
Riding a motorbike must be really exciting....

But you don't need them either. I mean you can't drive all the one you've got at the same time... and other arguments that SWMBO points in my direction.
Still she's still got more Radley handbags than I've got Jags.

People in Yorkshire probably hang on to their cars longer than anyone else (regional stereotype)...

"Old" cars are not necessarily "classic" cars. wink

I'm also in Yorkshire and everything I see that I like is miles away, thankfully.

I'm fact, of the four 'classics' that I've bought, one was from Avon, one from Suffolk and two from Essex.

It's one of the laws of the universe that any car you are interested in will be on the other side of the country. With me it's either the West Country or Scotland.
It could be worse though - what must it be like in the US?

Not in Yorkshire surely? Also if you are wanting a wife, partner, mistress, concubine, soulmate, you need to come to Yorkshire. I am a Lancastrian and married a Yorkshire lass....a real gem!
Grumpsy.
P.s. The classic cars are not bad too.

I wanted a Virage Volante and the only one I could find was in Glasgow.
Booked a baby sitter for the day, flew the Mrs and I up there, drove 100 yards up the road and realised I didn't love driving it.
Turned around and came back home.

Whatever you want it will be in the least convenient place imaginable.

This!

I'm up on Tyneside, and most of the cars I want are usually 300 miles away.

It's just an excuse for a road trip!biggrin

I'm interested in the E34 M5s mentioned in this thread though.

Details please.

And i travel!

I must admit that after buying well over 50 used cars, they tend to be "bloody miles away" from Yorkshire, as my nearest & dearest often points out.

The furthest one was a BMW M635CSi that was near Banff in the north of Scotland - what a (36hr) trek that was!

I was looking for a usable '80s hot hatch last year and luckily found a 1984 one-owner VW Golf GTi about 4 miles from my house in Sheffield - so there is a God! smile
