1974 Mini 1275GT in classic 70's orange.
Scrapped in 1991 as it was rotten.
If only I'd learned to weld and kept it...

I often think about some of the stuff that I've owned over the years and wonder... I do wish I still had the big block V8 Bristol when I met t'other half as she is never likely to experience such a wonderful motor (unless, of course she runs off with a rich bloke). Truth of the matter is that had I kept it I could not have afforded the upkeep/maintenance and my mortgage so would probably by now be living in a derelict grand touring car on an allotment somewhere...
The Panther had a little rust in the floor that would have led to big bills by now, most of the Triumphs would have needed a rebuild or two, the Porsches filled up with water, the Rover was just beginning to rot around the screen and was scrapped by the subsequent owner... and all the Fords - the Escorts, the V6 Cortina and the Fiesta Sport were going rotten when they were just a few years old so would have been mere piles of rusty brown dust by now!
Wouldn't have minded hanging on to my Kawasaki Z1, my BSA A65T and the better half's Tiger T100SS tho...

I used to own an Innocenti Mini Cooper 1300.

It must also have been about 1991.

It too was rotten.

So I cut the shell into pieces with an angle grinder and took it to the council tip in the boot of my brother's Fiesta.

Then I chucked the VIN plate in the bin and sent the log book back to Swansea.....

I saved the Veglia dashboard and the engine, box and S discs for use in another Mini project which never got finished.

Makes me cringe to think about it.
