The same company has applied to register Sunbeam Talbot too : http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/1/UK000030915...

And - found the right ones, also the same company : http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/1/UK000030456...http://www.ipo.gov.uk/tmcase/Results/1/UK000030456...

It's a travesty, why use a heritage name and launch a pig looking thing like that! There are hundreds of old unheard of car brand names collecting dust as well. Sunbeam my a*se!
The last Sunbeam car was made in 1976.

Enter the 3rd generation of the famous sporting brand.

I wonder if Peugeot have given them permission to use the name ?

Peugeot have not used the Sunbeam trade mark for over 30 years.

Use it or lose it . . that's the IPO Rule.

Everyone is linking it to the former car maker. Is anyone sure its not made by this company?

I dont see what is to be gained from using a name like this as outside the classic car world nobody will remember Sunbeam, the fastbacks were beautiful cars and one I would like to own though.

I don't see what all the fuss is about, what's wrong with using the Sunbeam name? It's been used on everything from soap to sewing machines to food mixers. No one really takes these as some kind of "disrespect" or marketing boost through association with 1920s racing cars. It's not as if the new company has been called "Jesus UK", or "Brian UK", or "The Bentley Blower ElectriCar Company".

I wish Sunbeam UK all the best and it's great that someone is willing to make a go of something new. I don't really think Sunbeam UK are aiming to outsell Renault.

Anyway, has anyone noticed that Datsun have used the name "Bluebird"!
I'm absolutely raging about it.

It will be interesting to see how this develops. Am all for an underdog making a success of things. There's a serious lack of info available re their products, stage of development, etc, etc.

Page has changed - it now seems to be an electric scooter rather than anything car-shaped. And the scooter seems to be this one : http://www.goinggreen.es/en/ rather than an original product.

I'm also curious to know if there's any relationship with this USA site from 2007-2011 : http://sunbeamamerica.com/
