Endangered Cars Needed...
Discussion
This arrived in my inbox, love the way they title the lesser fancied, lesser sporty for cars as 'Endangered'...so if you have an Allegro, a Maxi, an Austin Princess, a Simca 1300 or even Renault 12TL...

I was thinking of entering my Wartburg, but there's not enough oil around for the 2-stroke motor. But on a serious note if I could find a Jetta GLi I'd buy one like a shot since it was so seriously practical and such Q-car fun. A GTi with humungous boot and good performance. Apparently but 3 exist today.

My Sunbeam Lotus a possible candidate. Grampian transport museum is just over the hill from me. Could be a good day out as long as it's not raining.
Alford open days usually interesting, not far from me either. I usually attend the classic Ford events. Would be good to see yr Lotus Sunbeam there. Often a line up of mint Avenger Tigers.Lots of older cars taxed on 1st March for summer show season. Forres Grant Park and Tain Links shows always worth a look, loads of interesting older cars from Chevettes to NSU Ro80s, Jensens to Lotus Cortinas, Ventoras to a local one-owner 1960 Anglia which is still driven daily. Your Lotus Sunbeam would be very welcome.

Good memories. I bought a 1988 Jetta GTi 16v. What a lovely car it was too; only crippling insurance caused it's sale. I remember getting somewhere near its top speed on the Mulsanne Straight...quiraing said:

I had a few VW's including a Mk 1 Golf GTi, then the Mk 1 Jetta GLi, then later a Mk 2 16v GTi, but the last I didn't like since 5th was direct and damned noisy at speed. But as aforesaid, the Jetta was my favourite of all.Linked item in the original post said:
The How Many Left? show – inspired by the eponymous car data website ...
I prefer the www.howmanywethinkmightbeleftrandomnumdergenerator... website - it gives more reliable answers as to how many cars of any model or make survive to potentially tramp along the tarmac on any given day ; just as, oddly enough, a sundial tells us the time accurately on a heavily overcast day . Hostages to fortune, or WHAT?? (Expletive-deleted) me!!
