I need all the instruments rebuilding for my Jaguar XK150 which is undergoing restoration.

I seem to recall a few negative comments about the usual specialists, although it may just be the time they took.

Can anyone recommend a good specialist based on personal experience ?

Hi I am also looking for someone as well but only need a replacement needle for 1930's Austin but not found anyone. I would be interested in who the usual specialists are.

I've heard Speedy Cables thrown about a bit in the Caterham circle. I never went down the route in the end though. Might be one of the usual suspects though.

My very recent experience with Speedy cables (got it back last week) was a 3 month turn around time.

Factor that in if you need your speedo to drive your car.......!

You got away lightly! I sent all the instruments for the E-type for rebuilding and they took months to print off the dial cards. I think they took four months overall and that with a load of pushing. Incidentally, I've tried several otter switches and am convinced the temperature gauge is under-reading since the fan cuts in at around 70 deg. indicated.

Speedograph Richfield have done some good work on my speedo. Good service, nice people to deal with.

As you say lovely friendly people. Delivered my speedo to them and got a tour round the "factory". Wow, it was like stepping back to the Victorian age, though thinking about it they didn't have speedos in the Victorian era, so maybe just old stuff everywhere. Really old machines and bit and pieces of speedos and other dials and gauges everywhere. Not a place to visit if you've got OCD but fascinating to visit for an hour
