Is anyone going to the ACA sale on Saturday? Some exciting stuff there - I'm envious of whoever gets that Montreal!

I had been planning to go but it looks like I've got family stuff to do. If I go I'd have to make sure I keep my hands in my pockets when the Giulietta, Audi quattro and Delta Integrale come up, I could easily end up buying something (else) that I don't really need.

They get some great cars in these Anglia car auctions.
Just check out the guide prices on some of those old Fords (Capri/Fiesta/Cortina) unbelievable prices!

I'm going on Friday for the viewing. Far to dangerous to go on the auction day. I've no more room.

some reasonably priced classics there, will be interesting to see the results. Auctions are so much more interesting than classifieds or dealer websites.
Personally the Daimler V8 250 gets my vote - who would buy a capri over that?! Lots of nice landies and some good projects....the Lotus GT3 looked butchered....could be returned to a nice car....

I wish you hadn't mentioned that Daimler, a model close to my heart. And the Series 1 Rover P6. Hmmm. I might be back on Saturday if they're any good. I'll have to make room somehow.

indeed - my father had three, at the same time although 2 were total rust buckets that were gradually scavenged for parts...god knows how many v8 250 blocks there were lying around....but I always have fond memories of holidays to Devon and Bordeaux....

it's the Alvis that does it for me - just on the right side of scruffy.

nearly went to bid on an early 928 last July as we were on holiday close by but bottled it - went for £3250 and I was gutted!

ACA is how classic auctions should be, situated on a less than salubrious in est, no poncy bks, reasonable rates, free storage after the event. I can see why it's popular.

280se 3.5 for me, at the bottom end of the estimate.

agreed - these are cars to be sold - not to be traded from dealer to dealer or advertised for eternity at some wishful price.

The Alvis also interests me. solid cars, bullet proof engine, beautiful, not a cliché yet excellent brand provenance, to be used and not fawned over - good value.

Not too sure about that Integrale. It claims to be a 1990 UK market 8 valve and clearly has an 8 valve engine.

However, the 16 valve had already been introduced in 1989 (I had a 1989 16 valve on a G plate, also RHD converted).

This one has a 16 valve bonnet. My guess is it's a 1990 Swiss market 8 valve Kat car that's been converted to RHD.

But that's only supposition on my part.

I was up at the last one, in January, and it was rammed. It was difficult for the cars to be driven in to the bidding area because there were so many people. Really good fun though, it was nice walking around the cars and chatting to some of the other people there.

Just got back from the viewing. Nice and quiet with plenty of room. I'm in love with the black Citroen Traction Avant. So much want.

The results will be online by the 8th. I just hope that Citroen I fancied didn't go cheap. I was so close to getting on the phone.

I don't mind waiting for the results, but does anyone know what the XJR-S went for (Lot 58)?

Results are up.

If it's still showing the estimate, it didn't sell. The Citroen I fancied went for double the estimate, not surprising as it was an un-tarted car from a bereavement.
