The Cars Time Forgot...
Discussion
Either they didn't get the credit they deserved, or have become forgotten since their heyday. Like the Aston Bulldog, or 1984 Corvette. Which other cars would you add?

The '84 Corvette might possibly have been a bit forgotten, but I don't believe it didn't get the credit it deserved!
It was acknowledged as being a lot of car for the money at the time (and still is!), and a great straight line cruiser/bruiser, but it was also noted as being a bit on the heavy side, not built that well, and didn't handle as well as its looks suggested it would.
Added to that, the only place it really worked as a proper usable car was the USA!
It was just too big and bulky for the rest of the World (With a possible exception of Australia but then it needed an expensive RHD conversion carrying out to make it legal which bumped the price up massively).
Don't get Me wrong, I've always liked the C4 Corvette series, but lets not make it out to be something more than it really was!
If the C4 Corvette has been forgotten then that should tell you something about the car! - The truly good/great cars are never forgotten!

Opel Monza FF
Bit expensive at around £25K but at least twenty years ahead of its time.

Not so much a car, as a technology. Absolutely brilliantly simple and so cheap compared to Airbags. Consigned to the history books.

Bit harsh, the only problem is one of prejudice from the "its just a Yankee gas guzzler" fraternity.. The C4 stops and turns just fine. Mines an '87 and its a great holiday touring car, with huge luggage compartment, effortless cruising at 30+mpg using legal limits, comfy, fits like a glove, cheap to insure, parts availability is good, doesn't rust anywhere except the brake and fuel lines. The clamshell bonnet makes for easy servicing, just like a big Spitfire really, and they're at bargain prices right now.. 245bhp/345torks, excellent daily driver too in all weathers..
The suspension is really stiff so all it needs is a set of decent dampers and tyres for track day fun..

I used to own a Fiat 124 sport coupe in 1980 ish, bronze in colour was a cracking car. I bought it to get me back and fore to an oil yard way up in west Scotland. never let me down until I missed a gear at high speed and blew the head gasket was never the same when repaired so sold it on.

Wasn't there a "dislocating shoulders" issue with that, on the basis that people tend to hang on for dear life in the event of a crash rather than letting go of the steering wheel as the technology assumed? I can't remember whether that was a story I read, or just something I heard mentioned.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procon-ten
