Lotus Twincam Rebuild - Kent
Discussion
Ok so it seems I need to have the engine rebuilt in the Plus2.
It's a Big Valve engine in a 130/5. Just had it compression tested and it's about 30% lower in cylinder 3 which is the same one the keeps fouling the plugs.
Spoke to Connaught Race Engines as they are nearby and they would do an awesome job and get about 180bhp but at a cost and a wait.......
Can anyone recommend anyone local who can be trusted to do a decent rebuild?
Medway, Sittingbourne, Maidstone, Canterbury way would be fine.

Connaught are by far the closest and were the first people I spoke to.
They are very very busy and reassuringly expensive. If it was an engine for one of the race cars I'd be there waiting and paying.
For a car that gets driven infrequently it's a bit unnecessary having a five figure, 180bhp Twin Cam. Plus I'd be changing donuts every time I drove it with that amount of power!
I've spoken to Modus as recommended twice above, the engine is coming out and going there

I'm sure they'll be great, but in case its useful for future reader my engine was build by Vulcan and its been great (and dry) since. And this is the rebuild and dyno run...

They'll do a good job - tell them Kirsty's other half Sam pointed you their way. They are very very busy and reassuringly expensive. If it was an engine for one of the race cars I'd be there waiting and paying.
