No, you need to think of Benedict Cumberbatch's mum.

I was saving her for the weekend!

In a vain effort to bring things back to Earth / somewhere near Solihull, here's a rather fine 1/4 scale Rangie at Gaydon, if only Dinky made them like this...

Edited to add ; Mrs Cumberbatch also played an aging lesbo child kidnapper in The Sweeney.

I have thoughts about using a birch branch to whip. "...Right! You asked for it..." etc etc

I really wish you hadn't posted the 'after' pic of Valerie; hashtag fantasies dashed.

Some other faded beauties here:

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C717018 Nigh-on 7 grand.

http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C716955 Brown. Cheap.

That brown 2000 looks rather nice - it's a 'Series one and a half' job, it still has S1 badges but has the S2 facelift grille, bonnet and vinyl covered C pillars, there are quite a few like that still around. I wonder if it comes with a free trilby and dark brown sheepskin coat...?

Your drive way is beginning to resemble a prestige motors car lot, is it appointments only / 'POA'..?

Paddington Station, 1975...

A few years later the 'lawn' area beyond the buffer stops at Padd was used for a press launch for the Montego.

Go see it (and the Dolly behind it)

Is it worth that money? I have no idea what these go for except that brown one seemed VERY cheap ...

Go see it. The car looks great...even better if the engine bay was tidied up. Take for a test drive, have a fun bit of haggling...do the deal and come home a happy man.

Too scared to because I know what will happen! I'd say looking at the photos, if the engine bay were sorted it would be on the money. Quite a few manual 3500s turn out to be converted autos though so care should be taken when looking at them. IIRC the transmission tunnels are different widths. Asking prices for the really good ones are rising but you have to know your onions with P6s, it's quite easy to turn (say) a 2200 into a tax exempt 2000 etc. You can't drop a V8 into either of these though as the inner wings are different and part of the structural base unit.

I wish I hadn't posted that link now...
