That was cheesily fabulous, duly bookmarked. I've just finished watching the 1973/74 series of 'Special Branch' in which Mower shows off his penchant for a bit of roughhouse with nefarious West London villainy, it's not actually that bad! (The opening and closing titles however are full of cheese, Euston Films did it much better with 'The Sweeney' and 'Out').
I vaguely remember him as Det Supt Steve Hackett in Target. gruffalo said:
Human League yaaaaaay! Uber 80s-tastical video action, with mascara, lip gloss, hair frosting, and a bonus Saab 900. I was in my first term at university when this single was released, and bopped to it muchly at the college Christmas bop.The trouble is that now I will go and listen to The Sweetest Girl by Scritti Politti and then I will cry.

By the the way, I have Cupid and Psyche 85 on vinyl...

Interesting, thanks. O/t I note the Ital was the same price as a fairly basic Fiesta in 83, which makes them fairly cheap. Perhaps the last run of them was discounted.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tySdXlnxM6g
Alas! I mistakenly sold the Series Landy last year, and now regret this and miss the old thing. The SD1 and the Dolomite are still going strong. My friend's MG Midget, pictured in the opening post, was damaged by fire whilst garaged, when her next door neighbour's house went up in flames and burned her house and garage down. The neighbours had no insurance and aren't worth suing, and my friend's car insurers have written the MG off, but she is trying to buy it back from them and save it.

I sold my Series a couple of years ago. SWB, petrol, overdrive, windows in the roof...plus I'd spent a load of time and some money getting it to go and stop properly. Sold it for very little. Was a big mistake.Staffordshire, eh? A place where strangers are killed and eaten, and not always in that order. Glad you made it out alive.

On my own, on the moorlands, at night. Waited for AA and the contractor that arrived had a spring we could use for returning the throttle pedal. I'll look at video when home.Have you see this?

Afternoon Mr Van (or is that Mr 72?). Nice to hear from you.
Landies absolutely get under your skin, I sold my S3 in a fit of pique after my brother redesigned the rear crossmember. Couldn't stand not having one, so I ended up with an early 90.

Va bene! I am cross at myself for not bidding on a decent looking Lancia Beta Coupe that sold on eBay last night for 3200. I was prepared to go to 3500, but wobbled. It had been in a shed for a while, so maybe I dodged a bullet, but today I have non-buyer's remorse. I miss the Lancias and Alfas that I used to have.
British and Italian cars rule. Some old French cars are OK. German cars I find a tad dull, even though I can see that they are often very competent. I like a few old Swedes, but not many of those.

Given that you've owned quite a collection, which of your BL (or Italian) cars would make the most sensible daily driver ?
