I have owned a Rover 216 Vitesse EFi, and I liked it, but that was in 1989. There are only maybe three of those sheds left, and I ain't buying one. An Acclaim would be fun, but I ain't going for an Acclaim. Think more laterally, peeps.

I never thought to see the day when people reminisced fondly about the Marina of all cars. My trusty Moggie company car was replaced by one of those 'orrible things; drum brakes with no servo, built-in cacophony of rattles, wipers set up for LHD. The Mk2 was worse in some ways, being in beige with that solid cheap plastic curved dashboard that never stopped squeaking. Get thee behind me I say!

This is going to be a hard one to guess. It's quite left field, but also straight down the line.
Watching this with interest. Is 'straight' a bit of a clue? I'll say a straight six, so possibly a Triumph. TR5/6's seem to go for silly money, so I'll say a 2000 / 2500 saloon. There you go.

Good suggestions here - I would like a TR, I would like a big Triumph saloon or estate, and I would like a Princess or Ambassador . Crabs and Allegros, not so much, but anyway you are all still way off.

Knowing your fondness for Triumph and cost constraints, maybe a Magenta GT6

Want Level: Eleventy Twelve. Cash available: 10p. Therefore, sadly, I must decline.

Vitesse, would provide the straight six and (probably) cost less money than the more overtly sporty Triumphs.

My first ever classic car was a 1970 Triumph Vitesse Mk 2 saloon, with overdrive (rarely working), bought in 1989, sold about ten years later. I still like Vitesses, but am not going there just now.

Dammit. I would have said Princess or Ambassador too.

Few guesses.

Not with a budget of 10p, nowadays.
