Stockings, blue rizla and an egg

Old penny, adjusted with the help of a ball peen hammer and ring spanner, used as an emergency core plug after the original popped out after being in place for more than forty years. The temporary repair was done in the dark at the roadside, in the pi$$ing rain, and involved the removal of the bulkhead to get access to the back of the engine. The car was a 1935 Morris 8 Tourer and the bodge repair held, without any sign of a leak, for several weeks before I had time to fit a proper core plug.
