Excellent!
We had a dark metallic blue '40 Sovereign as our wedding car smile; do you think I could use my supercharged '40 next year (second time round) or should I use my Shadow?.....nah! I'll take the Jag lol!

Do like that black '40 Mr H smile

Lovely Series 1 JS68! why so shy? haven't heard a lot from you, more pics please! 500 miles in how many yrs? that would be like having Sasha Alexander lying next to you and deciding you need to go to sleep lol!

Thank you Carsie,

tis a lovely tool. I took the Groom and best man to Portsmouth Registry office in that and my wife took the Bride and maids in the red XJR, on the way back to Hayling the Groom wanted to drive his new bride in the 300, quite a sight the two of us charging along the A27 all ribboned up, at high velocity!!!!!

Supercharged 40 sounds interesting, any info??? i was thinking of dropping a straight 6 sc into my 77 coupe!!

Got married last month, and we used her Uncle's Morris 10 which was perfect.

There was talk of using his Morgan instead but Mrs B didn't fancy getting in and out of that in her dress!

My first wedding was in an XJ second was in a MK2 - both Jags.. great wedding cars. Both weddings to the same woman by the way, one in Japan, one in the UK!

Drove some friends to their wedding (and thence to the reception) in my Trabant 601:

My dad mentioned this thread to me so I thought I should throw some photos up. We got married in July and the cars were a big part of the day (well for me at least!)

Due to a lifelong connection to TVR, it was only right that I should have one involved in the big day. I was hoping to use something from the classic era of the marque (Vixen/Griff - wishful thinking!/M) but a lovely '98 Chim 500 did a fantastic job of getting myself and my best man to the venue.

The bridesmaids had the honour of riding in my dad's much loved '67 ID19. This has been one of the longest standing cars in the family fleet and made a perfect wedding car.

Finally my wife and my father-in-law carried on with the '67-theme with a lovely Jaguar 420. Not a bad wedding convoy!

Ive seen a stretched Lincoln limo a few times locally, its rough, the vinyl roof is peeling and bubbling, the bodywork has more ripples than Cadbury's, i hope the wedding photo's dont get blown up too much.

The VW camper is gaining popularity too but for true class....

Pity this is a 2 door...

This was brand new and rather classy :

Now here is a bride that will know what she has let herself in for before they get hitched ;-)

. And something a bit more vintage to keep it on topic.

I am sure I sold the owner of the house in the bottom picture 2 hardwood columns for the entrance hall.

Here's what we had in the end on the 12th:

My now wife's first restoration project - she even rebuilt the engine. Now to get cracking with the A35 and the rest of the fleet for use by some other folk.

My fiance has said (since about the age of 10-11) that when she gets married, she was going to the church in her mum and dads Austin A35. It has been off the road and on blocks for about 15years. They have owned it for about 40 years.

At Christmas when I asked her to marry me, her dad almost had a heart attack, not because I asked her, but because he actually has to get the Austin going!

So we WILL be having the Austin A35 as our wedding car. I will take along the Lomax too.
Best of luck! - we said the same re our A35 when we got engaged at Christmas (my intention then was to get married in 2016 not in less than 3 weeks time!) other circumstances came into play and so it's not meant to be. There was always a lot to do but we still gave it a good go! biggrin
Just to update this. Our wedding was on saturday and the little Austin DID make it to the venue. Apparently its a devout agnostic though and refused to go to church! Two days before the wedding it decided to throw its toys out of the pram and develop a leak on the inlet somewhere and we just ran out of time to locate and fix it. It would run, but only on max choke with a few revs, so we didn't want to thrash it to the church and back! Luckily we were offered the free use of a 1926 Humber 12 for those duties, beautiful car! I'll post a few more pics when I get them!

Cheers! My brother got that one just at sun set when the clouds cleared a bit!

Looking forward to seeing what the official photographer got! I think we had 3 or 4 professional photographers there, as well as "official one" so we should have a good selection to choose from!!
