Help with Caterham/Ford Type 9 Gearbox puzzle

Hi all, further to my thread in the Caterham forum http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... I wondered if anyone here knew the location of the reversing light switch on a Ford type 9 gearbox which I believe is the 5 speed box fitted to Caterham 1700 Supersprints from the late eighties.

We have a mystery wire, the other thread suggests it is for the reversing light switch, but the person with the car can't find it... the car is in Spain and i'm not.

Any Ford/Caterham buffs out there? Google is not being my friend in this matter, but I will keep trying.

It should be just below the gear lever hole on the driver's side, assuming it is a right hand drive car.

The reversing light switch is the black plastic thingy with two terminals, just below where the gear stick goes (blanked off with yellow plastic in this pic).

Thank you both and apologies for being slow to catch up. The person looking at the car tells me it doesn't look like a type 9 although the pics look like one to me. Sigh...
