Hello all,

I was kindly asked over in a parallel thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... to repost my story here. I'm in the process of importing a 1971 KPGC10 from Tokyo. We've just been given an arrival date of late November and once the car arrives we'll be restoring it.

Hey mate I don't know the first thing about these cars, but after checking out your blog I've noticed that there's one for sale over here in Australia... probably easier than trying to do a deal in Japanese, the pound is killing the AUD at the moment and we also have RHD, plus there's quite a few AU/UK shippers given the number of expats out here.

Thanks for the link, appreciate it. I've actually already found a car, was looking for a 2-door GT-R. The model list is a minefield (an interesting one) and I'm going to try and break it down on a very basic level in the next blog post!

I've been through the thread and blog real quick, so I may just have missed the price of the car, but am I right in thinking the car you bought was 2.1m yen? And is it the silver car with the S20?

No sorry, I've only just started the blog so still catching up over the last few months. I've kind of spoiled the ending saying I'm importing one but there a story in between.

I didn't buy that car, it's still being offered by a dealer but the price is 21 million yen.

If you're using google chrome on a laptop/desktop there's a translate button top right. Won't give you everything but translates some parts.

And yes, I'm very very jealous of you! I will own one of these one day. Just can't bring myself to sell my 32 to part fund it!

Yes it's a KPGC10. If you follow the blog you'll get auto updates.

To be fair, 2.1m Yen wouldn't even get you a very good KGC10 GT or GT-X these days, let alone a genuine KPGC10 GT-R.

In fact, you'd likely struggle to get a rebuildable S20 engine alone at 2.1m JPY...
