I don't think it's the March issue, we will have to wait until April I think, unless James tells us first.

The last few times I've looked in this thread I've had a little flash of recognition towards this mystery car, as if I know what it is. But then I realised it's probably just because this has been going on so long and I've looked at it so many times that it's now sunk into a deeper part of my consciousness.

Do anyone know if it have been posted to the French forum forum-auto? They seems to have quite a few members with very deep knowledge of even the most obscure cars, and that is often the only place I find good pictures of rare cars that I may be looking for. Likely they won't know either, but it is worth a shot if no one else have already tried it.
Good idea - do you know of any?

Could he be related to the fire engine company based in Guildford (roots back to 1898)? One of the family started his own coachbuilders in Guildford as recently as 1985.

This has been a very enjoyable thread...

That MGA is amazing, you can just make out the origins.
It would seem to have a V8 engine. I did a search but was unable to find any info.

I've tried to get in touch with a person that was said to have some knowledge about Arnott, but I have had no luck so far. I still believe that the answer to this car lies in knowing more about Arnott in general and specifically the 1957 le mans coupé, but I'm also convinced that that information is not available on the internet. Does anyone have any suggestion on where to find information about Arnott? Perhaps you have a old magazine with a article featuring them or have a encyclopedia dedicated to British sports car manufactures founded by women? I personally think it could be interesting to know more about them even if they turn out to be un-related to the mystery car.

And also does anyone have any contact information to Tim Sanders, the person behind the now defunct website dedicated to Williams & Pritchard?

http://www.williamsandpritchardregister.co.uk/

I personally I do not think this car is related to them, but it could be worth confirmed. I'm also interested in information about on a general basis (surprisingly little is found online now after that site disappeared).
You're working hard there. I hope something turns up for you.....

It's all down to you galro to find this beauty!
So it seems. A true Mystery Car!

Duncan Rabagliati is a well known name from the past. I could be wrong but have a feeling he's no longer with us. I seem to remember his car collection sold en masse at an auction some years ago.

Duncan is indeed still with us, I have e-mailed him on the mystery car and he replied stating that it is definately not an Arnott but no other ideas. This car is proving to be very frustrating...
Thank you for that info, apologies for my mistake.

I think I can officially say we have drawn a blank at C&SC.
However, if someone in some far-flung corner of the world picks up the mag in a dentist's surgery in 14 years time and writes in saying 'Gosh, that's a picture of the Ellison Turbo Bidet', if I am still around I will be sure to let you know.
Thank you James --

So I leafed through about 10,000 pages of 1959/1960/1961 Autocar in Haymarket's archive the other day, hoping I'd spot it in a tiny classified somewhere perhaps, but still no joy.

Bizarrely enough, a Twitter user flagged up this oil painting - apparently by a Mr Wallace Trickett - of the photo in question, but with the car removed and a taxi in its place. Weird!

That's incredible! Well done..
