For me, every car is a project. With newish cars the project is to keep them nice and with older cars the project is to make them better. Recently I decided I fancy a Legacy saloon.

Luckily, I prefer the later model.

Looks neglected, but rust free in that photo.

Would be a great basis for saving.

If I was nearby I'd be trying to find the owner.whistle

Pics from this yard have appeared here before and in the classic mags.

But as I was passing I took 3 more to show how little changes here since my first visit either 8 or 10 years ago.

I don't remember the Alfa 33 being there last time and also the Maserati Biturbo seen before for years may have gone but little else has changed.
In Tuscany BTW.

I think the silver one is a Lancia.

Silver car is a Lancia.

The other one I don't remember.

The car there is most of in the yard are Citroen Meharis, must be 6 to 10 altogether.

When I went in 2014,it was probably a week day and it was open and the old fella saw me taking pics from the outside and invited me in.It was a Saturday I was there this time.

Neither of us spoke each others language.

It's a Flavia 2 door coupe to be precise.

Some fantastic cars in that little lot!

I'm hoping to do a mini tour of Italy in the autumn, would you mind me messaging you for the location?

I'd love to see them in the flesh.

No need for pm.

They are in a village on the SS439 south east of Lucca,Tuscany.

I used to think it was Carraia but it's the next village south of there, possibly San Leonardo.

You can't miss it.

So we're both off the road or just the Excel? Strange to see one with the old Eclat one-headlight salute as they ditched the vacuum headlamps years before!

On my lunchtime wander I've seen this car/shell a few times. They appear to have cleared away some of the weeds so I could actually see it. Still have no idea what it is I'd previously assumed it was a Reliant Scimitar but now I can see it isn't. Anyone able to id it?

It's a clan
It's a McCoy. In the 80s while the original Clan bods wrangled with a pirate outfit in Ireland who "reintroduced" the Clan with pop up headlights along came another pirate called the McCoy. Unfortunately it was pish ( unlike the Irish one which was really rather smart) and sported mini underpinnings, a jacked up ride height and round headlights like the photo shows.

This picture really brought back memories of being a kid in the early 70s when i used to go with my Dad to scrap yards in London looking for bits for his MK2 Jag. I used to sit in the scrap cars - all dusty with the sun coming through the windows.

Would the Irish one have been the Corry Cultra? Many years ago, when I was a muttering rotter I crossed swords with the construction and use bods at the Dept of Transport when I happened to mention in an article that I knew a man in England who had the moulds and was planning to bring it back into production. I don't think he ever did.
