On the A925 between Fraserburgh and Aberdeen there is a house with a rather forlorn white Sunbeam Rapier sitting outside. Looks salvageable from the - brief - driveby glimpse I got...

A driveby rapier.

Niche.

Still, it gives the intended victim more of a fighting chance, I suppose.

Also used to be this 6 series rotting away nearby but noticed recently that it's gone:

and saw these two recently as well, looks like the Jag is being used:

Ah, the 6 series in Grove road, whatever happened to that? I watched it decay for over 20 years, it looked a bit out of place from the moment it was stranded!

Clio v6 that's been off the road for 7 years on the drive of a large house in Surrey.
1 owner from new 60k miles.
Turns out it's the ex husbands car........but it's in her name and ownership. she's happy for it to sit and rot. Left my details in case she has a change of heart but seems unlikely.

Surely perfect situation in which to offer her £10 for it and say she can split the sale amount with her ex - she is £5 better off than currently and he will have received half the proceeds so can't complain!

Does anybody know of any interesting yards of rotting classics anywhere near the midlands? Or at least just a few rotting classics in one place?
I am currently doing an A-Level art project studying abandoned cars and I need to photograph some to work from smile
Thanks guys!!

Old Saab on someone's drive. Classic Range Rover next to the caravan and another car at the back. Can't tell what it is.

Quite an early car, chrome bumpers ,small side lights.

Could be a 1709cc engine and have a freewheel transmission fitted.

Very likely a Triumph engine but probably the 1850 at that age.

When I was pumping petrol in the seventies a fellow pump hand gave me a lift home occasionally in the previous shape Saab that did have a freewheel. His party piece was failing to engage drive properly when pulling away and having to wait for the engine to slow down before crunching everything together and setting off - to the irritation of everyone behind.

Tried to check the car out but I think the first digit has fallen off the plate....LOL

I then tried all possible digits and it didn't work.

It's a wonder how gears got engaged at all on the column change 95/96 models, what with all the UJs it has.

Good guess Iva! The missing digit is a 6. Tax renewal 1st June 2001, so it's been off the road a while.

I worked at the SAAB dealer 79-95 and we still had an old K reg car in for service well into the 90s.

Thankfully V4s were very occasional.
