I'm guessing they are all Hillman minx, but happy to be proved otherwise

Yes I see what you mean, I was going by the rear window shape and the back door on the red one, that could be a minx and the others sceptre, very hard to tell.

Blue roofed one is a Humber Sceptre I think. That's based on the dash design. Singer Vogue is another option.

My first impression of the blue roofed one was that it was a Super Minx.

I think the other is a "Series" Minx, possibly a V.

Chaps, there's three Rootes cars in that montage. Two blue and white ones, one facing the wall the other back to the wall, plus of course the red one. smile

for what it's worth I think it's 2 x Scepters and a Minx.

Wow!! Yes there are three! Then No 1 is a Sceptre, the other 2 are Minx.

The top two are early 1600 Super Minxes with the wrap around rear screen, the lower one is a Series 3 Minx.

This is a funny little garage in our local town. The MKII has been there since the summer but the XJ40, the E30, the Biturbo and the Renault 12 have been there at least three years. Apologies for I pad upside down images btw;

Just outside town there are these two Renault 6s. The bronze one looks like it's being worked on but there never seems to be any progress

The second one is definately a Minx but I still think that the dash of the first one says Sceptre.

Still, I'm no expert on Rootes stuff so I am open to learn.

Those are pre-arrow series minxs. At that stage the Sceptre was a different car, not just the top line trim option on the minx/gazelle

This is the Sceptre of the period

No, the Sceptre was much more upmarket
