I wonder what's in the garages if they left that outside?

If i were ever PM i would do a Trump and make it compulsory for anyone who lays up a car, to give it to the first person who wants to get it back on the road...On the priviso that said person does it in a set time, depending upon condition

Drove past this place a couple of weeks ago - was going to go back for another look, but had picked up a marked car tail. Hope the link works...

https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-33.8647515,150.63...

Should show a field with four white RR Silver Shadows parked - 2 parked next to each other centre-right, one in the centre of the picture, and the fourth behind the trees centre-left. The house isn't your usual country stately pile, so I can only assume its a failed business of some sort, or they're just cut-outs to get attention.

Why? - You don't know the circumstances of just why the car has been laid up.

Look at "Car SOS" - Should all of the owners in that programme have been forced to just give up their cars after becoming too ill to restore them?

Nice idea: "Yeah, tough scensoredt you've got terminal cancer, give up your car for someone more deserving!"

Your idea sounds exactly like a Trump idea: Not thought through fully! rolleyes

If this was abandoned in London wouldn't it be covered in parking tickets and or towed away
Looking at the green moss/dirt that has collected perfectly around the car, I'd say it hasn't been moved for quite a while!

A quick google of: "Ferrari 456gt abandoned in Knightsbridge" reveals this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/28370466@N05/1672334...

frown
As of jan 17, it is now untaxed and no mot since 2015 - so I imagine finally it will move from its sad resting place
With a bit of luck, it will be declared abandoned by the local authority, removed and then sent to auction rather than being crushed, as per: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/abandoned-vehicles-cou...

Saying that though, I'm sure some authorities would take great delight and make a big public display of crushing a Ferrari to demonstrate to others what can happen if you don't tax your car! frown

Could be a one owner from new car with less than 10,000 miles on it, so it would be ripe for "restoration" wink

If it was a VW Camper or an Escort Mk1 it would be on ebay as we type...

Colne classics website says..."We have a 420 G in for longterm restoration currently, recently refitted

engine".....pic appears to be a blue car too.

The latter would hopefully be unlikely in this age of local authority budget cutting - I would have thought they'd want all the money they can get.

Could be a red 930, in 2008 there was one parked where this 993 now sits. The 993 was parked out on the road back in 2008 according to google street view.

Thank you for the voice of sanity. I didnt know today was 'complete lack of humour' day!!!!

My lad has two Dolomites in a 'state of undress' so i know exactly that there are reasons behind such long term lay ups. I jsut want to see them running before i pop off!!!!!
