Really? There's a world of pain awaiting you for sure. If you want one buy one someone else has already lost a fortune on, it's the only way!PomBstard said:

See I would buy that car in the blink of eye. First – great colour. Second, galvanised chassis, unburstable Toyota transmission and suspension. Third – simple, tough engine with carbs rather than freaky-deeky eighties electronic fuel injection that you can't get parts for and that you have to learn how to diagnose because garages can't do it any more. Everything else is just detail. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I wonder how much it would cost to bring back?

Really? There's a world of pain awaiting you for sure. If you want one buy one someone else has already lost a fortune on, it's the only way!I was thinking it might be nice a few years ago, but a mate had one and I'd forgotten the nightmare he had, so he reminded me of it. It took all the fun out of it for me on the spot. Other cars I'd still be thinking, let's go ahead, not one of these though.
Thing is, when all done and restored, they are not worth that much anyway to buy already done, and keep in decent nick. I would seriously let someone else have had the pain of the chassis, the bodywork, the electrics, the interior etc.
Other Lotus of different eras are just that, different, Elans etc.
But you're right, there is no logic. But I'll visit you, hold your hand, say the right things etc when it comes to it ad you feel as if you can't go on ...
