More 'abandoned chic' than actually abandoned as it has tax, MOT & insurance. But I haven't seen it move in 6 months. Very cool though.

That makes me sad.frown

I'm pretty sure that is a car known on the MOCGB site ...

Is it in Battersea?

Thanks I'm impressed at your skills especially as I can't see to pics I posted either.

Below a retry, Not sure if the state/pics of the one I've taken flatter the car having looked at some better shots of roadworthy ones smile

I just right clicked and opened them in a new tab and I could see them. No idea why that works though!

In between Newcastle under Lyme and Stone, is parked this sad looking Lotus Elan.

It has been parked up for sometime near an antique shop (maybe the owner's?)

Then look closer. I'm not sure that I'd like to just jump in either of these and drive them on the Queen's highway.

Are you not referring to my two posts - the Jag (or Daimler) and above it the Elan?

The Jag looks about the same width as the K11 Micra. Cars have become fear too big

No, just the Jag. Looks like it's parked in a pub car park for lunch!

The Elan looks unloved ...

Last taxed in '89.

It looks exceptionally good for something that has been off the road that long.

Any love for these? Riley one point five i believe, needs a full resto motor and interior all present but everything looks like it needs going through. I know the owner just trying to decide if its worth making an offer and for how much...

Last taxed 20 years ago today. Surprised not on a suffix plate as reg in May 64, although some areas were catching up still (presume it's the original reg) ...

Depending if it's always been kept outdoors, might not take too much to get on the road, but the sills and floors may have been shagged back in 1996 ...
I'm catching up on this, and the photo's gone. What's the plate? Suffixes were phased in, and at May 64 there were still around half the LTOs issuing old style numbers. The very last started issuing C plates on 1/1/65.

Where about is the Elan parked near to the Darlaston Inn ? I would like to enquire about it to see if it is for sale.

Yes, that is the one. Down a side road with a small Ford garage on one side and an antique shop on the other side. I understand that the owner of the antique shop is either the owner or knows the owner and has a rather inflated idea of the value.

Let us know how you get on. It's such a shame how it is neglected.

Was out in rural mid west France, plenty of decaying French cars, including these two more interesting ones
